I've always thought that what City did was a dangerous game, they're attracting players based solely on money, and as soon as a footballer realises he's got enough to last him forever, it must be hard to get fully motivated to play your best. You buy mercenaries and they will act like one. I have sympathy with Tevez if his motivations are honourable (he quits football or at least moves back to his family to play), but still, going on strike is absurd, nobody forced him to sign the contract, and so he should play by the rules. Refusing to play is petulant and childish and since he's being so brash about it, it's surely making Man City's case extremely strong to the courts, what have they done wrong?
Then again, I can see them giving Liverpool £40m for Torres in January so there may be a silver lining
