. That shotgun sounds good, but perhaps a tad overpowered ( okay so the clip is halved, this is still obviously the better gun), the normal shotgun packs quite a punch to be honest, if you get crits when you like it you might as well just use engies for attacking...

Well rumours are that a trading system might be included with the Update so if you can convince sometime to trade it 
The new shotgun does sound pretty OP, I can't wait to see the whine threads about it
Yeah I guess so, which is why I tend to avoid the steam TF2 forums now.
I wouldn’t mind a golden wrench. I know they are pointless and give no benefits but still, turning people into gold when they die?!

Its so rare it actually broadcasts that someone has found the wrench to everybody that's playing TF2 at that time.
I've crafted all my gear and no luck. Its worse than playing the lottery scratch cards
They decided to make is user friendly my getting rid of the old easy to use menu system and replace it with relatively incomprehensible icons set out in an odd layout.
Had 2/3 of a backpack worth of duplicate items to craft but no luck in wrench land, oh well half way to being able to craft a hat now anyway.
The actual update should be good though, demomen will cause much chaos come release.
I don't think the new shotgun is overpowered at all, its half the clip size (3) you loose random crits, so in most cases its a lot worse than the standard one and without crits it leaves you (one of the weakest classes) really lacking in mid range and relying on the pistol more which is at its best harassing at longer ranges. It will be a very situational weapon only good in cases where you've got a good sentry spot so as to get a fair few kills, but not so good that your better of just keeping the sentry up/turtling behind it and not having it destroyed to get the crits. A few crits can't hold down a bottleneck but a sentry can.
What it will be good for is the surprise sentry tactics especially in the more open maps CP maps, putting down a lvl 1 sentry in an odd place letting it get a few kills before moving it and getting your crits (which is always great fun). I just feel that the majority of the time either your (and your team is) better off with normal shotgun and sentry tactics or you'll get nowhere trying to get some crits with surprise tactics. So yeah definitely not overpowered and as I said very situational, so could be a good/fun unlock that moves away for the turtling instinct and will give a bit of diversity to the class for the people who never move more than 2ft away from their sentry nest.

I'm thinking about playing spy for the first week or so.
Engie update + free weekend newbies (if there is one) = spy heaven
Unless of course 2-3 of the buggars all group up together so you cant stab/sap and no doubt at least one will just wrench you at the first sign of a sap. Then again if theres no pyro about, 3x sentrys teles and dispencers plus sappers is a lot of chaos.
