The 2011 Chilli growing thread - it's scorching!

Tiny chillies are tiny :D.

Aren't that small almost scotch bonnet size.

Size on 8th of June.

Anyone got any ideas (especially nickk if still lurking)

My plant grown from Nicks seeds is healthy and producing loads of flowers now, but they do not seem to have any pollen. Also the flowers are quite small compared to jalepeno, thai chilli, cherry bomb, cayenne and every other type I have seen.
There just isnt any pollen at all that I can see, no amount of touching will get any pollen then 3-4 days after they have opened they fall off as they are unfertilised.

Its new to me, all the others produce so much pollen its unreal but these just nothing.

Wondering if anyone has ever come across this before, my chocolate hab plant is half the size of my bonnet plants. Now for some reason the base of the stem is about half the size of the rest of the stem, like so

I have one chilli growing and it's quite weedy :(

Yup, had a white hab do it, and it never really recovered, so i chopped it :(

Hmmm odd. The bottom of the steams on mine do seem to be thinner, but no where near like that pic illustrates.

The Scotch Bonnets are having a bath at the moment to get some water around the roots at the bottom. They're being prepared to be left in someone else's care while i go on holiday for a week.

Anyone fancy posting me some seeds for growing next year? Just used some seeds from a pack of Tesco random red and green mix and they germinated, but would like to grow something more interesting

Never tried growing anything before let alone Chilli's, bought some 'Cayenne' seeds back in march just out of interest and i think i may be addicted to growing them. Thought i'd post some pictures of my 1st ever attempt, it's pretty obvious after reading this that i didn't know what i was doing as can be seen in some of my pics where i have multiple plants in a single pot.

I did seperate on plant into it's own pot early on and used the largest pot i could find in the back of the garage and it seems to be doing well, it's currently a tad over 52 inches tall and isn't far off not fitting on the window ledge any more :D

Piccies-

I think I know what to do for next year now

I bought a tomato plant from wilkinson "damaged" for 50p.

You cant buy the large pots for that! Its managing to put out fresh leaves now, bargain.

Yeah mum got a lilly plant from wilcos for 50p and mainly told her to get it for the nice pot that came with it. The lilly plant was ok but the flower had withered away but hopefully it might put some new flowers out later.
