Ummmm...thoughts? LOL

Are these people bicep monkeys by any chance? That's maybe unfair but it's the first thought that popped into my head.

"More than what?" would be the next question, what's the ideal amount for training purposes? Is it a sole function of onanism that causes this problem of overtraining? What about sex with a partner?

I could keep making up sillier and sillier questions regarding this but in essence I doubt that it is liable to be a problem for almost anyone.

By the same logic, daily tasks would cause over training, i.e. preparing food, picking up your bags for work, even showering yourself!

I highly doubt it's true :p

BLARGH . I've got today off work, was looking forward to a good last session before the Christmas break where I can take my time and really blast it. Get to the gym and the bloody free weights room is closed! They're fixing the floor or some such business, It's completely thrown my day off and has extended my 'get fat over Christmas' phase by a day! Sad panda. Don't know what to do with myself now.

This is clearly a sign my friend! Christmas starts today :D

I've never posted in this thread before, but i've always been a very skinny guy, and would have got teased a lot for being that way.

Im 26, 5'7 and have been 55kg since i've been about 16.

I do a lot of cycling, and have a stupidly low bf%.

Started hitting the gym hard about 4 months ago, and have increased to around 62kg now.

Got a few compliments at the weekend about the size of my arms and abs at the weekend from a few girls for the first time - It felt great!

I havnt really set any official goals as such.

Im just trying to feel a bit better about myself, as i've always been a bit self conscious about being so skinny.

As my main sport is cycling/xc racing, any weight I put on must be useful i.e. muscle.

I tend to stick to squats, bench pressing, pullups/chin ups, deadlifts and a good bit of abs work (prone bridges, sit ups, reverse crunches etc)

Like myself originally really.

Good to see that you are doing deadlifts and squats! If you want someone to help with a routine or anything, post up what you are doing now (weights wise), say if you are doing a three day split or anything, or just randomly going during the week. And a run down of your diet would be handy to :)

My routines fairly mixed, due to liking to get out cycling and playing hockey.

But roughly:

Mondays: Squats (few warm ups, then at least 5 sets of 5 full squats) Currently mixtures of up to 90kg - dont feel comfortable with much more weight back wise. Do some deadlifts, 5x5 of 60kg at the minute. Then abs for 10-15 mins.
Tuesdays: Hockey training. 1 hour running (sprint training or endurance)
Wednsedays: Bench pressing 5x5 of upto 60kg.(Possibly bumbell presses if a power cage isnt free. 3/4 sets of pullups/chin ups to failure. Then abs again.
Thursdays: Sometimes hockey, or maybe to the climbing wall for some bouldering.
Fridays: Cycling or gym. Squats, pullup/chin ups and abs stuff.
Saturday: Hockey matches.
Sunday: Normally recovering from a hangover. Then maybe go for a walk.

Food wise:

Banana and apple for breakfast. Whatever the canteen has for lunch. Some home cooked food at night, with lots of veg.

If I dont get out exercising, I tend to eat less. Also aim for 1L a day of full fat milk to try and build myself up.

I dont like to make things too rigid, I aim for a healthy attitude/mindset.
