You have a smith machine? Front dips are awesome.

Afraid not man.

Check my gym yo:

It's fairly typical of those dips... bench dips, is that right? Generally best avoided. I'd do narrow hand pushups instead.

Aye, like this: http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/Triceps/WtBenchDip.html

I'll change it to close grip pushups then :)

643 posts already.. and it's only the 12th! Have you guys not gone back to work yet or something? :p

Had my first proper push day yesterday for the first time in over 12 months (due to shoulder injury and rehab)

Shoulder pump feels so good. I never realised how much I missed it :o

*Yawn* :o

Same person AGAIN moaning about people in the weights section of the gym he's been to like once....Jeeez, it's like we're some foreign entity or something.

Makes me feel all funny, bloody idiot

To be honest if your gym looks like that I would not want to be going back to that gym! xD

Delvis, you need to ramp things up and get a proper gym membership.

Well, the person in question is on about a big 'fitness gym' ie virgin gym etc.

The gym I posted is the school one which gets left in a state occasionally, as above...Which I normally have to clean up before a work out.

I will :(

Need money though man, and preferably a job MK way so I don;t have to drive 14 miles to the gym :o....There are a couple here I think but I believe they're mostly machine operated

Very pleased today

Trained with Rob, and managed 110kg bench press for a whole set of 6, PB for me. Had no choice really as he was doing 140kg for reps and didn't want to feel too weak :p

Nice one man!

Question all: I'm currently working my way up in weight ranges of 2.5kg, when I start to get some resistance (ie I can;t complete the 3x8 sets) shall I drop the weight down again one or two notches? Or what?

P.S: I feel like a right fatty at the moment :o

Why would you drop the weight? keep going at the same until you can complete the 3x8 then move up again.

No idea, hence the question.

I figured by dropped a wodge you would build up again so to speak? I'm only talking 2.5kg or something, not 10kg

No, when you hit a plateau on a lift, do strong lifts on it for a week or two and do sets of 5, as many as you can do but no more than 5

Currently doing a 3x8 program on everything basically...While one a three day split.

Never done strong lifts so not sure how that would work exactly :(

Basically just do the weight you can't do full sets of on 8 reps

And do more sets of it on less reps, usually no more than 5 :)

Well, I've managed to get to the gym twice so far this week. Kinda bad I know :( But it's better than nothing! Managed to do about 45 mins on the cross trainer each time I was in. Starting off easily for now, don't want to kill myself first week back.

Aye :)

May need to do that next week on Bench, had to stop on rep 6 on set 3, mainly because of my shoulder mind...Blasted thing :(

What injury do you have? Maybe start with some lighter isolation exercises to bring back the stability.
