I don't really mind if they're actually lifting a decent amount of weight and drop it, but the ones that do baby weights and throw them are a bit annoying, but nothing to get worked up over. Same with people screaming like a woman giving birth

What are your thoughts on other gym members throwing/dropping weights?

genuinely dropping due to your grip going or you cant physically lift it anymore im fine with.

BUT

if your doing it after 4 reps on your first set you should lower the weight and grow up and admit your not as strong as your ego say's you are.

Been to the docs, bit of poking about, bit of coughing, managed to put a smile on an old lady's face, and the prognosis is good.

Most likely a strain, and may have teared some fibires but overall nothing serious. Ease back in to things over the next week or so. She was also quite pleased to hear I do mobilityand soft tissue work which is good.

Plan of action is to continue with my Deload week, but I will be going to the gym today as I really want to do a bit of light squatting amongst other things.

Anyone tried intermittent fasting?

Getting your same calories, but in a smaller set time window, eat for 8,6,4 hours of the day, fast for the rest.

Only time it makes sense to drop the dumbells (other than in fail instances of course) is when doing decline dumbell press. Anything else and you should be able to put the weight down without dropping / throwing them tbh.

Cheers mate, I am going to try and be less vain this year and really focus on the strength gains so hoping to really push things this year :)

Odd session.
Log:
Wanted to rep 100kg as this is comp weight in 6 months.
Warmups
70x5
70x5
90x5
100x3 - all over the place. Didn't have a belt on and this ruined my core (clean and press is different to a normal clean n press)
100x4 - first one was strict pressed, damn my useless legs, strict log PB though!
100x5 - happy. Wanted 5. Next session will try 100kg 3x5.

Tackyless stones. Having shouldered the 105 before I was expecting this to go well.
Well, it didn't. Was able to lap the 105 and the 120 but that was it. Core was shot, no hip drive, felt like crap.
Disappointed tbh. But my fault for not wearing belt during log.

Dropping weights is only annoying when people do it in close vicinity of others with no regard for safety.

Likewise, I hate it when someone starts exercising over or near a bar I'm using.

Yes I do it. It's surprisingly easy to follow and makes eating less calories a LOT more bearable. I'd say the one thing I've hated the most during all my time training is constantly trying to eat small meals and get some protein every 2-3 hours. Such a drag. Some days I'll only eat one large meal, so much easier. That's the reason I do it, it doesn't make a spot of difference to gains, it's all about total daily calories.

Pressing 100kg logs for reps and disappointed.... I like it :D That's the kind of attitude that will get you somewhere.

Lol too right :D
I think 10 from the shoulders will be a good target so that at the comp I will be looking at 6+
Though I want to be doing at least 3 one motion reps before needing to do push press

one motion log for those that dont know:

Lol crazy weight, just trying to understand the need for the crazy hyper extension mid lift, it looked like he had that easily without that!

interesting thing about that vid is the OHP looked solid and easy but the 260 dead looked tough, funny how peoples strengths vary so much

Tbh most gyms won't have it. Logs/farmers/yokes/stones generally only exist in specific strongman orientated gyms. There are plenty around though. If your interested to try some stuff I'll find you a close place :)

would be interesting to get a log and some sort of farmers walk gear in at my gym but the guy in charge wont have them, as he doesnt seem to like the idea of people shifting heavy weights.

god knows what he'l be making of me when i start doing laps on the indoor track with 50kg dumbbells in my hand come the new year. :D
