*** The 2013 Gym Rats Thread ***

In so much that you're holding on to a fixed bar yes.

So in the same way that a push up is just a horizontal pull up :X

No it's not, it's harder than a press up! And that would essentially be an incline press up; which is easier than a flat one!

Eh? Who's rustled your jimmies? :p

Just saying doing pressups using the above method at the end of a trip workout (pyramid up then down for instance) is hard, let alone doing what the second video does, which is a weird French press :p

Physio will only help where you have a problem we can't see.

If you know what is wrong (I.e. shoulder rotation, hip, thoracic, ankle mobility) then even 25% of the cost may be wasted as physios will generally tell you what to do to fix the issues.

A good physio can be used for deep tissue massage, which will definitely help certain things...

What mobility problems do you have?

Well I am not sure tbh, I have scoliosis and I guess it makes me wary as to whether everything is functioning ok to that extent.

I guess I should pick up the supple leopard book and have a good read through that before committing to seeing a physio

Definitely, being able to diagnose yourself to even a small degree is a great feeling! So much so in fact that I did one of the mobility tests and I wasn't broken (as in I passed the test first time), and I was disappointed because it meant I couldn't say "HAHA LOL, I AM TEH DOCTAR!!!".

Dude - double scoliosis, here. You know what the answer was? Weightlifting. Couple with proper core work and murderous soft tissue rollering.

Damn I love my physios. :D

Supple Leopard is on my shopping list.
