Bulgarian split squats look like fun, might give them a go. Do you recommend starting off with dumbbells? I back squat 90kg currently (and improving!) if that's any help.

I would suggest you try the movement without any weight, just to see how your balance is. :)

I personally wouldnt try split squatting with a barbell

I used to do mine with a loaded bar in front rack... That was before I injured my coccyx, however. :D

If you wobble about like me I'd say /w out d-bells for a few sets & if you train with someone get back into the starting position and let them hand you the d-bells. :D

I was actually debating whether to start one while i was in the gym this morning. It doesn't really make for interesting reading.

Sure it does & you can see your progress as you go ;)

I know its a low weight but I have to start somewhere and I honestly couldn't do anymore without falling over.
Really spent a lot of time on doing them nearly an hour but I wanted to ensure I had good form and was doing them properly.

These are one of my favourite exercises... you're going to be sore tomorrow! ;)
 
Just wait til later tonight and especially tomorrow.. soon.. :cool:

takes 2 days for doms to properly kick in.. first day meh i hardy if ever feel anything... day 2 you can already tell what will hurt.. day 3 is when it kicks in and day 4 it gets better already.. :o

mind you, its rare for me to get repeated doms.. i have doms now because i started squatting as low as i could and its like i've touched new untouched parts of my legs and now im in pain lol.
 
Any tips on how to correct uneven muscle?

My right trap and lat is noticeably larger than my left, it has been like this for years, but now starting to bug me.

This was mainly due to working with carpets for years and only lifting on one side.

Option 1:

- Mobility.
- Start with weights both sides can manage, and work up...

Option 2:

- Just work out one side.

Option 3:

- Synthol, tbh.
