Why do you want to do longer distances?
Good question, reason is purely because it seems 'most' people run more than a milebeing capable of 5k doesn't sound like a bad thing to me?
I only do the cardio pre weight work tbh, typically 1 mile run + 6k cycle (20 mins total). It just seems like I should be capable of not dieing after 1 mile.
To be fair, a person would be fitter in terms of their endurance in running.IMO that is dumb.. I can't run a mile(I think never tried tbh) and I only lift and cycle... running 5k doesn't make "fitter" than someone who can lift double their B/W
also doing cardio before weights won't help.. you'll be exhausted by the time you get to the bar!![]()

If you want to train to be able to run/cycle longer then great, just as long as you realise that those are isolated goals and won't help with anything else (i.e. fat loss).

Fitness is a term that encompasses many factors.
Cardio question (I know, lift instead...)
Treadmill at 1.5 incline & speed 7.8, 1 mile in 8.15. I guess that's fairly acceptable? Problem is i'm close to exhausted after 10mins... How do I best work to improve this to achieve the same results over longer distances? Lower the speed or the incline? Or just keep repeating on current settings till it gets easier past 10 minutes?
