Breakfast question...

Currently having the Quaker Oats from the packet (the ones you then top up said packet with milk and nuke) with a bit of honey.

However, recently I've found it doesn't fill me up in the slightest. What else would you guys recommend? I'm normally short on time in the mornings so quicker the better really

I love eggs but never have time to cook them etc... Boiled eggs cooked night before, cold? *shrugs*

The ones in a packet are about 27g per serving I think. That's pretty much nothing. I think I breathe in more calories from London smog than that.

Get more in you!

Also watch out for the pre-made ones, they're loaded with sugar, just get a large bag of oats (2kg) will cost you per gramme a lot less.

Eggs take no time to cook - scrambling them even on the hob, or frying them takes about 2 minutes.

Or you can make oat pancake things that I quite like to make. Oats, peanut butter, milk, eggs, cinnamon. Mix together, large pan, coconut oil, fry them and finish them in the grill. Cut into portions and either eat on the go, or have it as a snack. Very filling and delicious.,

Yeah they are pretty small.. its still progress from my old Breakfast. Nothing! But just found that its not filling me up, guess that's answered my question.. Too small!

Not a fan of peanut butter but those sound pretty damn awesome... can you taste the peanut orr?

Oh my.. so hungry!

Thanks FF!

I burnt mine as I forgot I had it in the oven - but you can make small ones, or one big one like this:

I either eat it all at once, or have half and take the other half to work as a second breakfast.

You can get some 0 calorie syrups if you want to jazz it up a little.

I love PB so I put loads in, if you don't like it you can put something else in such as almond butter, or powdered nuts of some kind.

No I just do it by eye :o

Just experiment. I think the above was done with 2 eggs, I guess around 30g or so of oats, a couple of spoons of PB, cinnamon, and enough milk to bind everything together.

To help you gauge start off by cracking the eggs in a bowl, and add some oats to it, whisk it up, and add some PB, whisk it up and add enough milk to bind things together to a consistency of a "batter"... I don't really do recipes I'm afraid! Change the amounts to suit your tastes and consistency.

That's actually more than helpful buddy, cheers :)

Eggs take about 2 minutes to scramble in the frying pan, add a little grated ginger to them.
I will put natural yogurt in with oats and dried cherries or a selection of nuts,
Pumpkin seeds, soya beans, sun flower seeds.
Does fill me up, but I know what u mean

I'm swapping to Madcow (1x5) from Stronglifts (5x5) so I can keep progressing on the squat since adding weight every session just isn't feasible anymore for me and I want to take advantage of the midweek deload for the recovery. A lot of my lifts however are still in 3x5 or even 5x5 in some cases with SL. So I was wondering if it's worth using the sets/reps of SL on all lifts except the squat since Madcow starts with a 4 week deload and then swap to 1x5 once I'm back where I am now.

Any advice on this would be really appreciated.

Exactly this.

If he doesn't find time to eat properly then get out of bed just 5mins earlier than usual. Get the pan on high heat, throw the eggs in, and they are done pretty much instantly.

Might be because i'm half cut, but i read that as put the pan on high street was like wtf..

On another note anyone got experience with slow cookers?

i dont mind throwing together something in them and can get a decent meal, how safe are they to leave unattended?

Since i work shifts i was entertaining the possibility of dropping stuff in before i leave for work for 8 on a morning so it'd be ready when i get home at 4 (thats when im on a reasonable shift)

I make omelettes all the time at work using those microwave steamer bags. Bring the liquid ingredients in a flask and pour them in the bag, throw the solid stuff in (e.g. mushroom, pulled pork, cheese etc), seal it, give it a squidge to get it all mixed nicely then nuke it - comes out square shaped and thick but it's cooked through evenly, fluffy and tastes great.

Will be trying that pancake recipe, I sometimes add vanilla way to some pancake mix I knock up to get Dem protons in but makes them ever so dry.

I tend to goto work and have those Morrisons oats in a little tub the just add water ones. Because for me they taste better sugar loaded or not and are so much easier to have at work (in don't drink tea or coffee either) so I don't have milk.

Oh tried a quest bar the other day cookie dough one and baked it. It was like cheating absolute heaven, shame they cost an arm and a leg.
