Great little video, just subscribed. I think I learn better from watching videos. Is there any other youtubers worth subscribing too that are knowledgeable and no broscience?

Most YouTubers tend to vlog more than anything else. If you want good quality knowledge, 3DMJ's coach Eric Helms has two invaluable series:

The Nutirion Pyramid

The Training Pyramid

These were recently adapted into eBooks and I highly recommend them to everyone:

His Peeling Back A Layer series is good too although his uploading is sporadic due to being knee-deep in his PHD.

Good post Som. I'll share others that I follow when I get home. :) mainly intend to follow lifting ones as nutrition I subscribe to nutrition communities. :)

Posting in here rather than my own log...

Anyone got a decent protein bar/cookie recipe I can make rather than buying stuff? I'm fairly decent at baking so the workload isn't much of an issue; something with chocolate/salted caramel would be great

We don't speak of nails, I put three nails through three water pipes at my new house :D :D

Training feels alright for me at the moment. I'm about 93.5kg / 14st 10lb at the moment, heaviest I've been in a long time. Still got some abs in the right light, trying to push on up to 15st before dieting for holiday in May.

Motivation is high, eating plenty, training going well enough. The inconsistent training times is behind me now, so looking forward to piling on some mass.

Still not sorted our gym at work, so little energy to go to the other local gym when 90% of the time it's so busy you can't even squat. Can feel my gains diminish :/

Was banking on our gym at work being done before now.

Oops! Hope it's all sorted now!

Similar sort of weight to me :)

motivation is high and food is good, just REALLY struggled last night - sometimes I'll turn up and everything feels like it's been on helium diet - but yesterday, deadlifts (my favourite lift) felt like I was trying a PB every time!

Reading your post has cheered me up though, I like it when I hear people are doing well. :)

Oh I still have weak days etc, but I don't let that affect my motivation for the gym. Chest on Monday was a slightly disappointing day, but I've felt great grinding out a back workout today. I know I'm preaching to the converted, but with training you really have to take the good days with the bad.

Sometimes it's the activity you've done during the day, sitting in a chair badly, moving things around the house at night; you feel fine, but when it comes to shifting weight you soon realise your muscles just aren't at 100% sometimes!

Totally agree.

Although I had no drive yesterday, still completed my workout, and felt great afterwards, just didn't feel it at the time - everything felt heavy! (Okay, it WAS heavy... but that's besides the point! :p)

I need a new job badly. Every time I come off nights and have to reset my body clock for day shifts a few days later, my training is utterly abysmal and any steps forward I've made seem to be cancelled out and it's like one step forward, one step back. I can't train days/nights I'm working either so I can only go on those days off. Catch 22. :(

Giving this a bummmmmmp. Currently dealing with eating these Nature Valley protein bars, whilst they taste OK it's getting a bit boring.

I'm currently benching more than double what I'm squatting. I'm pleased because my bench training is going in the right direction but I really miss squatting and my current total for this year is almost nonexistent...

I got the lass who runs the gym cafe to make the above ones. I think she used 100g whey instead of 60g, so they were perhaps a bit powdery, but if you use the recommended protein grammage I can see them being quite true to a flapjack!

Cheers fella, that one looks fairly easy providing I sub for whole milk and normal honey, acacia costs an absolute fortune. Need some more whey and whilst the chocolate one is fine I think a change is in order...
