*** The 2017 Gym Rats Thread ***

Guys, I feel really low. I can't get out of this sucky process. I've seen over 10 therapists for 2 problems and I'm not getting anywhere.

A year ago I was close to 3 * BW squat without belt and straps and I just don't know what happened. I'm now struggling to hold my 3 month old.

Over 70 y.o's club seem to be doing better than me.

:(

I have the same problem sadly, physio didn't help and those swinging exercises made my condition worst. I had already almost 2 months rest - 6 sessions with acupuncture(electro one a well) and still plenty of pain.
I stopped using ibuprofen as it's not good for you. I am trying to use natural remedies, vitamin C & sodium bicarbonate, icing twice a week. If that wont help i would have to go and get cortizone injection.

It was really underwhelming going to the physio and I cant see how bending over and swinging my arm is going to fix my shoulder issue. Its been going on now for 2 months and I haven't been able to train, lost all gains and starting to lose all motivation :(

When it seems to be getting better - I try to bench the bar only (where before was benching 80kg) and I can feel it starting to ache so stop. I have tried dumbells last time and again started to feel it go. Same with dips.... Only exercise I can do is squats...

It definitely is in a lot better place than it was 2 months ago as it was aching every day without training... but I want to get back into it again and I keep trying and failing....

If normal pain killers are not working see if you can get diclofenac sodium prescribed,I think there is 28 tablets in pack.It helped a lot.

Its fine now day to day; although sometimes wake when sleeping with some pain sometimes. Its just when I try to do weight lifting it starts to hurt again and this will last a day or 2. So I keep feeling fine, try fail, try again a week or 2 later, fail.... it doesn't seem to be improving.... I don't think painkillers would be helpful..

What is the issue man?

I thinking of doing the everyday squats thing; any tips? I've read around the blogs and it looks fun if you self regulate properly

Go careful until you can find a balance where it's a challenge but your not falling apart by the end of the week. I ran a kind of PPL. Where before the push and pull days I did either 4x4 or 4x10. Leg day was an accessory day with front squats instead of back, calfs, hamstrings, etc. Unfortunately a rugby injury has ended this for me for the time being. I'll probably start again after I get back from holiday in 3 weeks.

Just about to start going to the gym for the first time in my life (30) tomorrow. Just read Steedie's brilliant guide. One quick question about weighing yourself. What should you be wearing when you weight yourself? Boxers just?

Shouldn't matter as long as you're wearing the same thing every time you weigh yourself.
