The 3 best players in the world... your thoughts?

I'd have Rooney at the top but I doubt I will be saying that at the end of the season if he goes MIA in a few months as I expect he will.

So:

1) Messi
2) Ronaldo
3) Not anyone else close to these two unless Scholes comes out of retirement then I'll put him at 1) 2) and 3) as would most of the greatest players to ever grace this planet.

u know in the final ronaldo went missing he scored 1 free header, and the rest of the match u didn't see him at all he had a really poor game,

He scored a goal, in the final. Owen made a career of doing nothing but scoring a goal, but when Ronaldo does it, he's had a crap game? Whut?!

1: Messi. Can't really dispute that one, he's verging on the perfect footballer.
2: Ronaldo. I can't see why this can be disputed, his goals and assists are just astonishing. Yes he scores a lot against the weaker teams, but so does everyone else.
3: There is a long list for this one IMO; Rooney, Xavi, Iniesta, Aguero, Ozil, Fabregas.. And the obligatory Ryo Miyaichi.

Ozil isn't even remotely close to any of those.
Also i'd wait to see a bit more of Aguero, i'm sure he will be named among those but it is only really now because of two games for city he is.

Do you not watch Spanish football?

Aguero has been amazing, utterly brilliant for a few seasons now, I stuck my neck out and said he's the best forward in the Premier League now.

Ozil is easily close to those players, he's again been fantastic for Real and Germany, phenomenal player.

Better than Rooney? You jest surely?

At his best I'd argue he's not even better than Tevez

I said he was the best forward in the League, so I guess that puts him in front of Rooney in my estimation. If it's any help, I don't think there is too much between the two, had he gone to the better club in Manchester, can you imagine United's forward line up :p

I think Tevez is a good player too, but I just think Aguero has a touch of class about him that Tevez lacks. Tevez is very work horse like, Aguero seems to do just as well in attacks without running himself in to the ground as well.

I know I'm biased but I just can't for the life of me see how Aguero (or Suarez referring back to that link I posted in the Banter thread) can be rated higher than Rooney

Rooney is just amazing, I'm sure his no shows (along with the rest of his team) for England cloud some peoples opinion on him (not specifically you Tummy)

I do watch Spanish football, Aguero you can make a case for, Ozil not a chance.

I think Ozil is close to them, probably not quite at the same level, but he's definitely up there with them, even if trailing a little.

Aguero, I'd say 100% he should be in that bracket of players behind Messi and then Ronaldo. I'd have said it last year, when he was at Atletico, and I'll say it again now. Absolutely brilliant player, and if anything - Isn't given enough credit IMO.

Aguero has done fantastic so far, scored 6 goals in 4 games and has looked sharp despite Copa America.

Ok none of them have been against the cream of the Prem but he can only score against who he plays and its not as if he has never scored against top teams, he has a great record v Barca IIRC.

Alongside Silva, Nasri, Dzeko and Tevez etc he has a great chance of cementing himself as one of the best in the Prem and even the world... Great footballing ability to go with his great attitude.

Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking Rooney, he's a quality player. He's the first properly World Class player England have had in their side for quite a long time (imho) and he's top draw. I just think Aguero edges it, it's a close call.

I don't have any problem with putting him ahead of Aguero either so you're welcome to that :p

I think (as many of you know I'm not the Premier Leagues biggest fan) that Rooney, Aguero and Suarez are all very close, it would be a really formidable front three.

As for people who mentioned Tevez being better then Aguero, have a word with yourself. Tevez is a work horse, Aguero is a class act. Said it for a while, really enjoyed watching him play for Athletico. I said it as soon as he joined Manchester City, top signing, top player, best forward in the League.

I also think Ozil is very close to that bracket, I'd personally have him in the chasing pack, he's got so much to his game and he's so young. Amazing. Having said that there are a few German players who are really good, so he's in very good company at least on the International stage.

I also think the Premier League is blessed with some really good defenders, Vidic and Kompany to name two and I really rate Ramsey, although he's not in the World Class bracket yet, he's certainly got the potential to be.

I really don't like naming lists of players in order, but I'll happily chuck names in to the mix.
