Bought an 64gb 3g today, have to say the surfing experience is amazing , and by far feels a lot better than my laptop, was wondering if its worth getting the keyboard dock seems a bit pricey at £55 .. any thoughts?

If I was going to get an external keyboard I think I'd have to go wireless.
 
I've never struggled so much over buying a gadget as i have with the iPad, I like Apple products I already own a Macbook and iPhone and will definately buy the new iPhone but as much as i would love an iPad (I really would) I can't think of a single use for it bar sitting comfortably on the couch and surfing.

Being the sort of tech freak i am I would have to get the 64GB 3G version with camera kit and case. So thats over £750 which then makes me think in what way could i use it that can justify the price, and i can't!!

It's driving me mad cause i live a couple of miles away from a store that as them in stock but I know i won't have any use for it beyond "sitting comfortably on the couch and surfing"

I was the same as you...

I bough the one you would buy the 64gb 3g reason is that I plan and hope it can work to use it as a Photo storage while I am away so when I filled my memory card up will upload it to my ipad so i can use the memory card again... Same time as viewing the photo on a nice screen.. When home I synce it to my macbook pro to do my editing which is good.

My macbook pro is ageing so I bough the iPad and plan to buy a iMac when they realease new specs here hoping ... then I wont buy another macbook pro as I have the iMac for doing the hard stuff... the ipad for lazing around the home accessing the emails and internet etc....

i thought the same as you , i ordered and cancelled on the apple store 2 times , but after biting the bullet and getting it , i am amazed its one of those products that you dont think you need, but after using it , i dont think surfing the web on a desktop or laptop would ever feel as good .
ITs hard to put your finger on there just something natural about moving the pages with your fingers rather than a mouse or the silly little laptop touchpads!
oh and its bloody fast to and soooo smooth , with the scrolling and zooms etc.
i have decided to sell my gaming pc , and get a small pc for random tasks etc itunes etc etc and storage , even the games i have so far on the ipad is great , very responsive , photos look great and to think a week ago i didnt even own an iphone , now i have a 3gs and this.....

LOL, I can feel myself going over the edge!!!

Think i'll take a trip to the store just with the intention of looking ;)
 
Is anyone else thinking that having an iPhone is a bit pointless now that the iPad is available? In all honesty other than the lack of camera, phone calls and texting, the iPad does everything the iPhone does but way way better. I'm considering selling my iPhone 3GS and buying an iPad and just getting a bog standard phone for at least a few months.

Having used an iPad I now find it really weird using the iPhone's tiny keyboard and screen!

I totally agree though I replace iPhone for Android phone.

Exactly what im thinking now of doing, get a bog standard phone for my work etc and sell the 3gs i have and get a ipad with a payg data sim.
 
Does anyone know if staff at the Apple store can cancel pre orders for you? I guess I could just log in with my iTunes account on one of the displays. I might head into town tomorrow and get one in the Brighton store (my shipping date is June 7th and I can't wait any longer). Lets just hope Brighton have some in stock.
