Ok i bought the 32gb none 3G and i am itching to take it back and get a 32gb. With 3G or should I speand the extra on a 64gb none 3G? I would use the 3G when away but that twice a year is it worth it? I just don't want buy something that wont be used... Is 32gb really big enough?

Nice to see RealVNC have created a free iPad version of their software. Wheres Im dissapointed GoodReader want us to cough up for a separate iPad version when I have the iPhone version (ok its 59p I know but you know where Im coming from :))

Are you saying because you paid for the iPhone RealVNC version the iPad one is free or there is a totally free one? If so could you point me in the correct direction as I can't find it in the store. TVM.

I paid for the iPhone version (before the iPad version came out).

When I synced up my apps, realvnc appeared on my ipad and when I loaded it up, its a different version to the iphone version (i.e. full screen app as opposed to running in a small window.
Plus a different interface.

Furthermore it seems the software is developed for both the iPhone and iPad. I.e. I think if you buy one you get both.

Wheres Good Reader is available for iPhone... and for iPad (separately).

Make sense?

Also as a developer you can compile your code for iPhone only, iPad only or a universal iPhone/iPad binary.

iPhones sit on iPhoneOS 3.1.2, iPads on 3.2 and there's small but subtle differences between the versions of iPhoneOS.

Apple have already announced that it will be the fall before iPad gets iPhoneOS 4.0.

Er why were you wondering?
(Sorry I cant remember if we had a prior conversation or something about this? Please do remind me! :))

Bad memory heh :)

Not so much a conversation but a quoted post a few pages back... at least I think it was you, maybe it's my memory that is bad! Apologies if it wasn't.

If only they could come up with an emulator to port Playstation 1 and 2 games to the iPad, then a USB port so you could plug in your ps3 controller :P

oh if only

What is the screen like in bright sunlight ? My net book is useless for surfing in the garden and I could probably use that as an excuse to justify getting one ...

The camera connection kit actually allows you to connect USB devices such as headsets. mics, oh and cameras.

Using that you can use it to make skype calls. A nifty "hidden" feature I read about a while back. Might ease those who complained about the lack of USB :)

I was so close to popping out to buy one last night. Spoke to the wife and she said "buy one if you want, but you'll only moan when you want to buy stuff for the house".. I think my age has changed me because I actually decided not to!

I may wait until 4.0 is released before getting one, as no doubt it'll arrive near my birthday in September and I can treat myself.

Been using my 64g/3G for two days now. Love it. Battery life is excellent - comparing it to my 3GS. Been playing plenty non stop.

I went into Liverpool today and snagged a 16gb wifi model from the apple shop.

They had run out of the 16gb 3G, 32gb wifi & 3G, but had 64gb wifi & 3G and 16gb wifi still in stock if that helps anyone.

It really is a nice bit of kit and is pretty good to type on. Better then I thought it would be!

I'll have to pick up a mifi thingy at some point I think. :)

Aye I got up around 0830 this morning and the iPad was fully charged, I use it with Night Stand HD as an alarm clock. I've watched a couple of videos, played some games (slaughtering the CPU at Scrabble ), used other apps and browsed the web plenty.

It's now, 8 hours later, still on 70%. Pretty damn good if you ask me (which you didn't).
