*** The all new Apple iPad thread - Keep all iPad stuff in here ***

Just received a Griffin Case (Elan Passport). It's good. Keeps the iPad protected, has a nice leather feel. Not chunky, good weight, perfect fit. Great for travelling. Has slots for Passport and cards / money. Love it.

Use it like a netbook? I use it like a tablet. Read like the net a magazing/book, i don't carry a KB with me and plonk it up on a table so i can type like a netbook...i have a netbook for that, which has not been turned on since i got the iPad.

I've obviously not seen you about with an iPad then, have I? :p

To my surprise after getting my delivery email last night my official apple case has just turned up and despite having to take off the protective plastic that the iPad comes wrapped in when you purchase it my iPad now has a new home :)

Problem now is that the apple case is so nice that now needs a case to protect it :p

I think you meant to put this in the iPhone thread! Oh and it is more about PPI that resolution.
Nope, right thread, as someone else mentioned it before me, it was in reply to that.

Plus, on a technical level, when it comes down to it, resolution is PPI is resolution.
It IS a high resolution display on a smaller screen, no two ways about it.

Cant see it being cost effective for Apple, or for us, for the next iPad to have a 'retina :p' display. :p

Looks very professional and i can store a limited number of documents with it too.
Makes a good stand as well. :p.

Im just getting fed up of waiting for mine now! Ordered on the 8th of June, not supposed to be delivered until the 24th! Should have just gone into the retail store, nevermind!

Tried one out for the first time today at the Exeter Apple Store. Very nice indeed. It really is a much nicer couch surfer then the iPhone ever could be. I also found the iPad a lot heavier than I thought it would be. I just managed to get out of the Apple store but was on the verge of buying one! :)

Also had a look at the new Mac Mini. Very sleek and seemed pretty powerful. ;)

Ordered a 5 pack of screen protectors of the bay.
Ive wasted 3 already and given up. Too damn hard putting them on perfectly aligned with no bubbles!

Think im not going to bother!

They should just put screen protectors on the damn things ;) atleast their cheap i guess to buy?

I got 5 for £6.95 from the bay!
Ones from Zagg or Power Support are around £15/20 (for 1 or 2) which i think is a rip off!!!!!!
But yes i agree, they should come with one on!!!

Ouch thats a rip of... so the bay is the way to go! still a pain to fit

Yes the bay is the way to go.
You'll be very fortunate to get it right the first time!
Most of us on here have pretty much used each and everyone so I would get plenty of cheap ones.
Theres many on there which are packs of 5/6 for around £6

Main point of them is to try stop scratches or the fingerprints? like they might be easier to get rid of?
always would have thought with a layer of plastic on top it wouldn't feel as nice or respond aswell.

Also are people getting like anti-glare protectors or just normal things?

I got anti-glare.

The main point is to stop scratches but they also double up and make it easier to clean.

Obviously, the only time you really damage the screen is when you clean it as you can drag dust particles under the cloth or whatever you use. This eliminates that from happening.

I have noticed with mine that its a little better when it comes to fingerprints in the fact that I don't end up with loads of fingerprints as fast as I did without the protector. It certainly is more fingerprint resistant than without. Obviously I still do end up with fingerprints but its when i drag my finger across the screen rather than tapping on the screen but even then they are not as pronounced.
It also making cleaning the screen a lot easier and a lot faster.

My iPad responds just as it did without the protector so no performance hit. Still smooth.
