Only problem i could see with them is:
The top part you got to leave somewere as it would be useless. Though if you have a screen protector on and the part you clip onto the top makes it so the screen doesn't hit surfaces then i guess there's not the biggest need to cover the screen but it would help.

Also the folder cases have 'stands' on them so you can lean it up. Which must be so useful so. I would have to go with a folder case.

All this talk of cases and screen protectors. Am I the only one who likes using iPad naked as apple intended with my fingers on the bare screen ?

Love the solid uber quality feeling

I have a cheap belkin soft case for traveling.....

I did that for two weeks but then it got kinda scary, it is like using a big soap

I waked into the Apple store in MK earlier and they had loads of apple cases in stock

Rang the apple store in Newcastle and they had loads in too. So popped in and bought one.

It just confirmed why i hate going into town centres on a Saturday. The apple store was packed with people trying ipads, i've never been in an apple store before, so I struggled to find the checkouts.... Never realised they'd have so many products for people to try. It would be much easier to get to if it was in the metro centre though.

I didn't bother with a screen protector on my iPhone, or a case, I just make sure it's the only thing in my pocket so there's nothing else to scratch it and it seems to be holding up fine. I had a rubber case on an iPod touch and it was a pain when it came to using a dock. The screens on apple products seem resistant enough to scratches to not need a protector on them. I didn't want to make the ipad bulky with a big case but I do like the way the apple one allows it to stand up. It seems to best thought out, it offers some protection and it's still nice and slim.

ps. I'm quite enjoying the typing experience on the iPad :)

But what about the finger prints dude?

Everytime I pick up mine feel like it needs 5 minutes cleaning before hand!

Only thing I do like though is just having it in my hand i.e. not in any kind of folder case like the apple one. I doubt I'll bother looking at anything else now, I'll just rest it on the belkin carry pouch if I don't want to put it flush against any surface. Need a screen protector ASAP though!

Just use it as it's intended, that's how I use mine!

Never been one for phone cases or screen protectors either. I've had my iPhone 3G well over 18 months now and despite never having any extra tat or bulk stuck to it, it's not in too bad condition at all.

I paid £599 for my iPad. Putting on £6 protector just gives me peace of mind and protects my investment.
Will also keep the screen free from any marks/scratches when I come to sell it next yr when iPad 2 comes out!

Hey,

I have an 'unlimted' internet plan on my blackberry curve 8520 and i was wondering if there was anyway to make it act as a hotspot type device so when outdoors my ipad can connect to the net via my blackberry

Does anyone know if this is possible and if it is, how so?

thanks

Nope, won't work.

We tried connecting my iPad to a friends iPhone who tethers it for Internet access and it was a no go, the two just wouldn't connect

I have no idea how if you can do it on a BB but on my Android phone I can tether the ipad and use my phones 3G.

I'm kind of wanting an iPad now to replace my netbook...was going to order another netbook but...I want an iPad now. I'm blaming Raymond :(
