Is there any way I can get summaries and info about videos I already own into the iPad? The video page in the Videos App looks a bit bare for stuff I have ripped and installed into iTunes myself.

Think I used metax which works pretty well finding and auto filling the info. Only thing is the Mac version doesn't search and auto fill, but if you're on windows then it works fine.

Sooo....

Does it support multitasking right now or is that coming in iOS 4?

IM? Is there one or is there an app that supports MSN & FB together?

Can you play HD videos on it? 1080p / 720p MKV files?

Would I be able to connect an external hard drive it via the usb adapter to pay movies and stuff from?

Would I be able to replace my laptop with this? Word documents? Watching films on? Printing things from it, though I could do that from my PC.

Hey Folks I am about to buy an ipad this weekend and I have a few questions
which I hope you guys can answer. I am currently using itunes to sync my
ipod touch which has many pages of apps installed. Is it possible to use the same
pc to sync my new ipad but have it sync a different set of apps?.
Or am I just better off using a different computer to sync it.

Also can someone recommend a good screen protector to use with the ipad?.

yea you can use the same account, when you connect it up just go to the apps tab and deselect the ones you dont want on you ipad

Will I have to do that everytime I connect the ipad?.
Am I going to have to manually select which apps I
want on my ipad and which apps I want on my ipod
touch each time I sync or can I put them in groups?.

no once the apps you dont want on are deselected thats it unless you choose to put an app on at a later date, if you buy a new app just for the ipad there is an option to sync new apps, it is really easy ;)
 
So getting back to my other question can someone
recommend a good screen protector for the ipad?.
There's a lot of choice and some are quite expensive
also I know some have anti glare properties..

Any recommendations?
 
I put the invisible shield on mine and its really good. I've had them on my last couple of ipods and both my iphones and its saved them all from a nasty fate on more than one occasion.
 
anyone using a stylus with there ipad ??? looking at one for sketchbook and brushes, seen the pogo but not sure if its any good

Palringo does Facebook and Live messenger together on the iPhone. If there's no iPad version yet then the iPhone version will work.

There's work going on in the JB community to allow people to play movies from a USB hard drive. You need a way of powering the drive though, the iPad doesn't supply enough current to power an external drive on it's own (so you need either a drive with it's own power supply or a USB splitter and a USB charger). And you need the Camera Connection Kit (for the USB). Not a good solution at all really, but it depends how desperate you are. I believe it's only currently possible to move files between the iPad and HDD rather than play films directly off the drive.
