Those that have installed ios 4.2 gm, what happens when the final release occurs?

Nothing - GM denotes Grand Master - the term for the original in a duplication process. It's old terminology left over from copying floppy/CD/DVDs.

To all intents and purposes, the GM is the same release that customers will receive. It's designed to let developers check their apps ahead of everyone else. The final build might vary slightly though - but usually only in areas like which wallpapers are available, etc.

Bloody nightmare lol. The curvature of the iPad back makes it a tad awkward and air bubbles do appear out of thin air. Just ensure you use a good squeegy thing as I was using a sock (don't ask!) to smooth down the vinyl.

I never did bother applying the bezel vinyls to the front of the pad as I prefer the front perfectly free from shields etc.

Does anyone else experience a scrolling issue with the iPad? Sometimes, if I'm scrolling up and down a page for example, the input will suddenly refuse to accept anything but up and down movement - if you try to scroll horizontally or even move diagonally you just get nothing. It happens horizontally too. The only way to get it responding is to take your finger off the screen and try again. This is actually really annoying and I've never experienced this in 3+ years of iphone ownership. It's not just on one particular page either it happens all the time.

I put 4.2 GM on my iPad... bought an Airport Express today too. Airplay works like a charm. It's a great device!

I'm looking to get one of these bad boys for work. As a personal trainer, carrying around paper on clipboards can get a bit tedious. I'm hoping it will make things more efficient plus will look good on the gym floor for prospective clients.

That and using it to read off recipes in the kitchen.

Thing is, prices are a bit steep at the moment, should I expect a post xmas drop as the spending season is over and people get rid on ebay etc? What ya reckon?

I've found some PNG wallpapers tend to lag the zoom effects when opening and closing apps, little annoying.

Guys, just picked up my 16gb Wifi iPad a couple of weeks ago, and loving the experience.
I'm tempted to pick up a Three MiFi, but wondered if the iPad had any way of utilising the SD card capabilities that the MiFi has?

Having a mifi myself but not ever tried it; I suppose maybe if you connected it to the USB version of the camera connection kit using the supplied cable then maybe it might pick up the sd card? Honestly no idea if that would work so don't spend money based on that

Having said that if you've got the connection kit you can use use a mini-sd to sd adapter and use the card version of the kit!

Anyone got any experiences of running powerpoint/keynote on their iPad. The main reason I'd be buying would be to run sales presentations on it so unless it's slick I'll keep my cash.

Haha. So the pretty looking thing works with a screen protector ? Good good. I still keep my iPad in the case even with the protector. I've dropped it around the house lol. Could be more careful. Also when in my college bag I can 'throw it around' a bit and knows it safe. In the laptop part of the bag

You can get Partial screen protector from gelaskin, the pack comes with a full one and a partial one.
