3G has GPS as well don't forget.
ahh good point. guess depends how often you take it out ...

Where about, I'm going blind!
I think the £100 difference with 3G and non-3G isn't worth it when you can get Mifi for £50. You can use the Mifi on your iPhone, iPad, girlfriends laptop if/when we go anywhere needing it.
Just seems the Mifi has more usage and its £50 cheaper than the 3G upgrade in the iPad!
No doesnt Apple have an official Tethering option to link to your laptop for example? I remember it was something like £15 a month or something?

Yes and this is the iPad thread. The only way to get internet on an iPad is through wifi, or via an integrated 3G chip apple want £100 for.
Can you get HE discount on iPads? (Plus the free 3 years Apple care?)
I thought it might have been asked but couldn't find anythingAlready answered this twice in this thread(but it's a long thread so easy to miss). No, there is no educational discount on the iPad.
Carrying around a Mifi in my mind isn't hassle, I'd be taking a bag with me if I had my iPad so not like it's carrying round a brick all day!
Didnt realise the 3G iPad has GPS but I can't see myself using that anyway if my iPhone has it! Not going to use iPad TomTom, thats just daft![]()
How muchBah couldn't resist and bought a 16GB off ebay, looking forward to it!
"We've bought your iPad [3G 64GB], and activated it on one of the Macs in the store. Nic's currently sat outside with it using Apple's WiFi"
Better not bloody scratch it!
EDIT: They also got me a iPad dock and iPad camera connection kit. From what I'd read online the camera connection kit has been pretty much out of stock everywhere!
Can you tell me if GPS works when 3G is off?
