*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

Does anyone have an idea of price to just biy it from e store, either im going mad or something but i think i read an engadget that it would start at $ 199, that can't be right surly.

Those are the contract prices. Ignore them.

Do you guys think if I pre order on the 15th at the apple store in regents street I will get it on release. I don't intend queuing up from 6am will go there about lunch time? Need it urgently as I am going away on 25th

They're not bad - not the best of a smartphone by any means but a colossal improvement previous iPhones and will be more than good enough to be considered good enough for casual snapping.

Do you have to send you phone away to them?

I will have to look into what to get, quite intrested in a mix of screen covers and that apple bumper.

naa it's just a standard screen protector / piece of plastic, they post to you.

bit of a pain to put on but used it on my last 3 phones and it's been great.

Ahh, cool cool.

Yea i can imagine it being quite a b*tch to apply.
I watch chris pirillo trying to add one to his ipad, took him like 30mins lol
I'd be well fed up after 30mins!

The flat back should make it a damn sight easier to fit a ZAGG invisible shield, was a right pain on my 3G

I'm quite looking forward to getting the 4, my 3G is very tired now and it is a real step up unlike the difference between the 3G and 3GS

spoke to o2 today they told me to keep an eye on the website today and tomo as they are expecting pricing any day now.

i hope they arent to much. ill pay up to £500 but not really much more

I read that the reason the iphone isnt using 5ghz is because of power consumption, and you no what steve is like about power consumption!

Hmmm, just found out that the wifi n in the iphone 4 is only 2.4Ghz.... am I right in thinking the ipad is 5Ghz? That's a little annoying if true.

Where did you hear that?

The iPad definitely works on 2.4GHz and 5GHz :). I use one SSID for all my 2.4GHz APs and one SSID for all the 5GHz APs, and the iPad can see and connect to both.
