*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

is it true that Apple have changed their terms & condition for apps to be accepted into the App Store whereby if an App is to be made available on any other platform then it can't be sold in the App Store? (which would mean a lot of games)

Havent heard anything about this. would be a crazy move if they did.
a lot of risk involved, i guess they would just play the 'we're apple, we command u to follow us!'

My 3G contract ended 4 months ago, ive been on the iphone simplicity tariff waiting for this so im not bothered about buying out any contracts :D

Same as me... Well actually I've been on iPhone Simplicity a bit longer, but makes no difference!

I'll be doing the maths on whether to continue with iPhone Simplicity (in a PAYG iPhone 4) or whether to sign up for another 18/24 months.... as right now my contract is fine (ignoring O2's lack of 3G anywhere!), so it'd have to be cheaper to make me sign up....

I got my iPhone 3G (16GB) at launch, on the £35p/m 18month contract.

When the iPhone 3GS came out, I bought one (32GB) as a pay-as-you-go handset and put my 3G contract SIM in it, and flogged the 3G handset.

When my 18 months were over, in December 2009, I had my contract changed to iPhone Simplicty £20 - for those that don't know it, it's a rolling 1-month contract at £20p/m for exactly the same as the iPhone £35p/m contract but with extra texts (though I can’t remember the number).

For iPhone 4 I'm not sure what to do.

My current idea is to sell my 3GS handset, buy iPhone 4 as a pay-as-you-go handset and then either have O2 transfer my Simplicity 20 contract over to a microsim (will they do this?), or to cut up my current SIM to fit (I did this with another SIM for my iPad as no microsims were available here when I got it!).

Unless they do a contract that works out better....

Like a lot of people, I'm a launch day 3G owner and my contract ended sometime in January. I have switched to the O2 Simplicity for iPhone (600 mins, 1200 texts, unlimited data and free wifi) which is £20/month with a 30 day recurring contract.

The question is do we just fork out the price for a PAYG iPhone 4 (assuming O2 will give us a micro SIM for our simplicity contract) or get a subsidised phone on contract that will be guaranteed to be more expensive and offer less minutes/texts? I guess we need to wait for O2 to speak up to see their pricing to weigh up the options. I can't see O2 offering Simplicity customers any sort of upgrade deal.

Option 3 is jump ship to another network.

Is it still the case that O2 are the only ones with Visual Voicemail? As I am half tempted to PAC my number over and switch to Orange or Vodafone this time....

My iPhones have been my only experience of O2, and I can't say I'm impressed!

From what I've found over the past couple of week O2 are indeed the only people who support visual voicemail, still.

As for Vodafone, I got my 3G on O2 back in Nov 08 and I was still in contract with Vodafone at the time so have been running both contracts and just not using the Vodafone sim card. A couple of weeks ago when my O2 contract expired I cancelled that, had my 3G unlocked by O2 and started using the Vodafone sim. Without doubt the worst decision I've made in a long time, not only did I loose visual voicemail, which I love I also struggle to get any signal in areas where the O2 signal was always perfect.

And when I do find somewhere with a signal the data connection speed on Voda is pitiful compared to O2, using GRPS (which is all I can get around here on any network) Vodafone seems to be around half as fast as O2, even for something as simple as Facebook or Twitter, let alone web browsing.

I'm not the only one either, my sister just got a 3GS on Vodafone and she's had nothing but problems with signal and data speed either. Needless to say I'll be going back to O2 for the iPhone 4.

Looks like we have the 4 networks on board for the iPhone 4 now (T-Mobile, Orange, O2 and Vodafone) and Tesco Mobile (MNVO) looks like they are trying to get it as well.

Just sold my Iphone 3G 8gb on Ebay for £210 + £7 postage.

woop :D

I'm holding onto my 32GB 3GS until pricing is announced, then to the 'bay it is!

Its got the classic crack in the plastic by the dock connector, so with any luck I'll be able to get it replaced for a brand new one.... so then I'd be selling a brand new 32GB 3GS :D.

the back on mine was scratched and it had a mark on the front.

Not exactly mint, hence the price is a reflection of that.

I'm another one at Glastonbury on release date..... i'll just order one when i get back

oh and i've sold my 16GB 3G to my dad for £75 yay

Oh god, the price of the 3G 16Gb on O2 Recycle has gone down by £25 in 2 days - supply and demand I guess if they're receiving a lot of them. Their terms also seem stricter than other mobile recyclers. MSE has a good tool for checking which sites will pay the most for your specific model.

I'd like to trade mine in ASAP for a new 16Gb black, but I'm waiting for confirmation on PAYG prices first like a few other people are too.

Anyone ever used this service before thinking of selling my mint condition 16gb 3gs? Also is release date most likely guaranteed if i buy from apple store regents street?

Does that £75 include the lifetime support as well?

sadly yes, he tries hard bless him but he's upgrading from a Nokia PAYG red thing without a camera!

he'll be alright and he's 150 miles away so i suppose most of the time it will be telephone support.

Sold my JB'd iPhone 3G for £310 to a work colleague yesterday. He's let me use it up until the iP4 arrives though as he can't stand his new fangled Sony Experia pos thing but can live with it for a few weeks longer.

Just need to look into one of those 'magical' 7mp camera apps that boost the pansy 2mp camera into DSLR territory yeah! :o :D

When will 4G networks be ready? Thats if they are being implemented.
Im just wondering if apple are going to add a G to the end of that 4.

From the reviews of 4G ready phones in America it doesn't really seem like its worth it at the moment. It drains the battery much faster than WiFi and for the majority of usage 3G is more than enough.

I don't think Apple will include it until the performance is good enough to leave it on 24/7 like 3G.

Here's the offer:

Instead of paying off your remaining contract in full, simply pay a one-off charge equal to £20 for each full month left on your contract. This reduced cost offer cannot be combined with any early upgrade eligibility you may have as part of O2 Priority List.

Simply enter your contract renewal date below and we'll estimate how much your early upgrade charge will be.

If you don't already know your contract renewal date you will be able to find it out from mid-day on Thursday 10 June by texting DATE to 21302.
