*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

why would you want to cut your sim card, o2 will just send you a new one ?

Seriously? I see it as if you've agreed a contract with a specific handset for 18 months that uses a mini sim, then its not in their interest to change it. If you've got any info on this though for in contract customers let me know please :)

Probably keep me contracted until iPhone 6 - no thanks :p

Im gonna go down the route of selling my 3GS 32GB for around £350 (min) then just get the 4 32GB for say £550 and enjoy my iPhone £35 contract - may move networks if the O2 reception doesnt get better (tempted to go back to T-Mobile)...

+1

I got off the upgrade / long term contract merry-go-round some time ago, and this isn't going to tempt me back. The ~ £200 cost of the upgrade is probably the extra I'd pay in contract prices anyway :)

The 3GS was priced at $199 and $299 in the states for 16gb and 32gb respectively at launch, I expect UK prices to fall in line with current/launch 3GS pricing.

Which... I might add... DAMN! Gotta save some pennies!

*strokes his iOS*
Pleased that they're releasing iOS 4.0 free- they're obviously ensuring a high take up for the iAds platform.

Need a new dock connector fs. Looking forward to the iPhone 4. My custom 3G is slowly dying and I really need a speed boost as I never got a 3Gs. The hardware+screen was all I was interested in and they are superb tbh. Not as impressed by pansy OS4 though :/

Did you really need a 3Gs though?

I mean, I bought the original 3G back at the time of the launch. If I'd bought a 3Gs, I'd of had to renew my contract again for another 18 months. Sure it would have been nice to have video recording and the compass, but it was obvious it was worth keeping my 18 month contract free when I came to the end of it as there was clearly going to be a new phone which was more of a worthy upgrade.

I'm sure all the UK service providers will allow people an early upgrade, however you will have to pay off the remainder of your contract.

Exactly. :)

I don't actually have an iPhone, I have a HD, but I didn't complain that I didn't get the option of an early upgrade to a HD2 when it came out 12 months after the HD... You go on an 18 month contract and you have to live with the consequences.:p:(

hmm tbh it looks entirly underwhelming, a nice smartphone however nothing like the PR hyperbolic rubbish Apple are spewing.

just a big enough step to catch up with the competition.

This.

By the time 4GS comes out, or whatever they call it, I'll be contract free. Some time well before then in fact.
