*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

If you have a mini sim you can get an adaptor to make it normal size and when i just registered intrested with my carrier o2 they said they would send me a mini sim .... i had to give my address details

Wait, whats normal size? Mini sim is classed as the standard for mobile phones at the moment (which is what i have) and this version of the iPhone requires a Micro sim.

Do you mean you have a Micro sim and o2 sent you a converter to make it a mini sim?

Sorry if i'm talking rubbish here lol

I drool at the iPhone4 however I think I'll stick with the 3Gs+iOS4. The simple reason is that the majority of the market will be 3Gs for a while yet and it does all I require.

I bought my 3Gs outright on PAYG and I've not used anyway near the monthly minutes the contracts offer. So financially it's been a good move. I now have the option of (a) going for an iPhone4 or (b) continuing with the 3Gs but having to pay for data. I look at the next 2 years and think - what about my job etc.. at least with a monthly PAYG (talk+data) I can drop the cost if need be but still keep the number..

Question is - does the iPhone4 have an option for PAYG SIM with free data? If so I may be tempted to go for the iPhone4 rather than continue with the current phone.

Ok im talking about the sim thats in my 3gs ... o2 are not going to upgrade me to a 4 and then ask me to cut my sim card :p they will just send me a new sim

Thats true, I use my work phone for calls and the iphone for everything else ie: Internet, Satnav, emails inc work ones just so I dont have to use a BB, cheaper for me than paying 3G rates on my work phone.

Anyone want 1200 unused mins and 500 txt's per month...?

Buying the iPhone4 outright, which is what I did with my 3G and was going to do with 4, will cost more than a contract. But then again you're not tied down to an 18/24 month contract which is what I like!

If you use the current 3GS prices for 4 prices then it works out at approx £44/month for 18 months in a contract or £45/month over an 18 month period but without a contract.

Definitely know which I will be going for if I decide to get one!

Yer, the screen is a high end IPS screen as the iPad has, except this one has some utterly ridiculous pixel density that is stupidly high. Engadget said that they couldn't even visibly see the pixels lol

It's not a ridiculous pixel density really. It has around 316PPI I think, the average smartphone has around 250PPI. Compare to the "old" iPhones it is a massive increase though, they only have around 160PPI.

The HD3 is rumoured to possibly have something stupid like 350 PPI if the (poor) rumours are to be believed...:p
