Bitdefender Free being the exception as the only one with no PUPs.

Incorrect, Total 360 doesn't have any PUPs either

No issues with gaming for me with Bitdefender Free, but then using latest free version.

It's been 100% solid and no pop ups or issues, flawless AV.

Agree its a brilliant AV however many do suffer from the issue and I was one of them unfortunately.

I Use Nod32 now, it's awesome.

Tried loads of different AV software before I settled on it. Bitdefender slowed my (pretty beefy) computer down to a crawl, wouldn't touch Norton with a bargepole, Windows Defender from what I read has a lot of flaws and I was never too impressed with AVG and Avast.

I like Nod32's UI a lot too so that's my recommended AV software.

Looking to renew my nod32 licence and see members mentioning g2a.

Looking on the site there is only a German licence available ... Can this be activated using a vpn?

Answer to my question:

VPN worked and activated nod32, German language install only but can re-install English version over the top of old install.

I use nod32 AV, very good product.

Mine does expire next month and I want to renew but Im wondering if I should try the internet security version?

Currently I combine Nod32 AV with my windows os firewall.

Can anyone recommend the internet security or should I just stick with what I have currently.

cheers

I liked Bit Defender but I kept having a common bug where it would minimize games and the only way to fix it was to log off / on. I now use Qihoo 360 Total Security and have been for several months and absolutely love it, can't fault it in anyway and it uses its own, Avira's and Bit Defenders engines simultaneously.

Best thing is that it's 100% free with no PUP's and no attempt to drain you wallet at any point.

Yep, I've been using this for a while now. Very good indeed.

No idea why anyone would pay for an antivirus when there are free products like this available.

Eset NOD32 AV all the way, I’m using it more than 6 years on 15 machines and I am more than happy with it. Antivirus software I strongly recommend. :)

Its paid for. I used it when it was on the ascendancy and found it to have the fastest scanning algorithm as I hated AV's back then to take ages to sweep my drives. This must have been around 2007.

I ditched it when renewal time they had jacked the prices up so I used something else. I still install them as a reseller dependant on the situation.

Using bitdefender free at the moment too. Very light, not obtrusive at all and no nasty pop ups. Not sure how it compares to some of the 'better' paid for antivirus applications like ESET Nod32 or Panda but I hope it's doing a good job. Also using Malwarebytes too.

Tried bitdefender free but it was causing me all sorts of issues. Limelight wouldnt stream to my raspberry PI and i was getting warnings galore from google saying my computer was constantly accessing a webpage. A virus scan was clean though.
Switched back to Avast and all the issues went.

Been using MSE for ages but just tried bitdefender free after the recommendations here. Not sure what to make of it yet, there's almost nothing you can configure (such as turning off auto-updates etc) and when it does update it interferes with gaming by either stuttering or poping up in the bottom right of screen.

Recently tried the trial of BitDefender but had several issues with it, was repeatedly getting BSoDs and was having big problems with Plex Media Server streaming for no more than a minute or so. Uninstalled it and switched to the trial of Kaspersky and things are back to normal again.
