Sparky_H, i've got one word to say to you.
Pantsu :p

Oh don't ! I had to stop lookign at my screen during that episode !!
and the damn theam tune wont leave my damn head

Nice warm and fluffy ending to Chobits but it wasn’t quite what I was expecting or hoping for.

It’s still a great anime series and well worth watching if you want something to make your soul smile.

Next on the chopping block is Full Metal Alchemist

Just finished reading Wish. I just love CLAMP's style and it's a really cute story as well. I definately need to pick up their other manga.

Anyone buying the upcoming UK NGE Platinum release? it comes in a fancy tin, has a booklet, a bunch of on disc extras and is identical to the Japanese release. I've got the R1 thinpak but I might check it out anyway.

No thanks I have my special edition Nerv artwork boxset edition - 3 years old though.

Whats the diffrence between the standard and the plat edition?

The main difference is massively improved video quality, and 5.1 sound.

They basically remastered both the audio and video, and the video was light night and day, the platinum version has a much better quality transfer which really shows up a lot of the details better and a huge improvement in the colour (much more vibrant/better contrast and less murky).
If memory serves Gainax are reported to have spent about half a million dollars cleaning up the masters and it shows :)

WOOHOO! :D

Just received a shipping e-mail from DVD Pacific saying they have shipped Mobile Suit Gundam vol 9. Now I have the full series :D

After it was out of stock everywhere and not even on ebay I'd given up hope of completing the set. What a nice suprise.

Loopstah, good news :)
DVDP seem to be fairly good with hard to get disks.

Has anyone seen Only Yesterday?
I've just finished watching it after seeing bits of it on and off over the past 3 days (i've been feeling pretty under the weather and unable to concentrate on subs*), and although I had my doubts about it, and it was pretty slow it was very enjoyable, and I absolutely loved the ending.

*One of the reasons I watch a lot of dubs ;)

I just finished episode 51 of FMA.......

Still not the equal of Elfen Lied or Evangelion but its close.

I can actually sleep now!

I've just watched Steamboy which was pretty good :)
The Directors Cut box though is a work of art, some of the best packaging i've seen for Anime, you've got the good outer box (only slightly marred by the BBFC logo), then you've got what at first appears to be a slipcover on a normal DVD case inside, but is actually the cover for a really nicely done gatefold package for the 2 disks (i'm not normally a fan of gatefold packaging).
Then you've got the books etc :)
The movie itself had some really nice animation and I think acheived the effect it was aiming for (it felt "right" for the setting), and a very nice english DTS track complete with relatively authentic Yorkshire accents (that fitted the characters quite well I thought).

Definately worth the tenner I paid for it ;)

Oh, and Patlabot fans, the second movie LE is now up for pre-order, slgihtly cheaper than the first at £38 over at MVM:)

just watched Fullmetal Alchemist Conqueror Of Shamballa which is a must for any FMA fans.

Right who can recommend me something that’s really good but must have a happy ending!

Martian Successor Nadesico is soon to be added to my collection as I loved it back when Sci-Fi was testing out Anime Thursday.

Ghost in the Shell Movie Timeline
Ghost in the Shell
Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence
Ghost in the Shell 3: Solid State Society (I assume)

Ghost in the Shell TV Timeline
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 1st Gig (1-7)
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig (1-7)

Events take a slightly different turn in the films compared to the TV series so they're different stories with the same characters (with a few differences).

On a Patlabor note I'm not one for toys but a revoltech AV-98 Ingram toy is coming out soon and I might just have to buy it. :D

Thanks for that. I was looking on Play and they listed 21 discs and I got confused :o
