Gunbuster R1 release date announced - RRP of $65 for a fancy set.
Unfortunately it's Sub only (it looks like the rumours about the M&E track being lost/destroyed are true), but even so it's great news :D

I'm just wondering if I should pre-order ASAP or wait a bit and see if there is a U.K. release announced.

Is street figher alpha: generations any good?
Saw it in HMV today, surprised they were still bothering with the street fighter saga.
Storyline seems remarkably similar to the first Alpha movie.
Only 45 mins as well.
Is anything that was released after the first animated movie as good?

Watched all of Hellsing and D: Bloodlust a while back and they were mint.

I thought the second one was best? The one with Chun Li's boobage.

Or Am I getting my Street Fighters confused?

That's Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, which I've taken to be the first animated film. That scene is blatantly what makes it the best one.

That and the fei long vs ryu fight ^^

Just seen the first episode of Kujibiki Unbalance, the anime\manga that the guys from Genshiken love so much. Looks a fair bit different from the oav and I didn't think i'd like it at first but it grows on you as it goes on or at least it did for me (plus it has Madarane and Ogiue giving commentory on the next episode preview :D). Looking forward to next weeks episode now :)

I'm afraid I haven't a clue about the anime, but suspect it's one of this years crop (probably a comedy/romantic commedy given the look on the characters face).

I've just (finally) watched the last SAC 2nd Gig disks and it was very very good :)
The ending is almost straight out of the Manga.

right this post is going to be the most stupidest ever and i do apologise.

years ago when sci fi used to be a half decent tv channel they used to show some films and anime late at night.

there was 1 anime i turned on and i watched a bit and it was cool! but i was tired so went to bed.

now years later i want to find this anime!

so with everybodies assistance and my **** poor memory hopefully we can work it out.

all i remember is:
the leading character was a lady
she may have been a hunter
the bit i remember was that it was down a street at night (she may have been talking to another character her sidekick)

i think it was about vampires or demons. im thinking vampires
i also think princess was in the title

thats ALL!

im so sorry about the really really really really really really really really really really terrible description but please help

Demon City or Wicked City would probably be my guess as well from what I remember of Sci-Fi's anime over the years (I think they've shown both).

Ok, erm 3x3 eyes is another one that could very possibly be it, can you remember roughly how far back it was? (IIRC 3x3 eyes was last shown around 96 on TV)

The obvious one is Vampire Princess Miyu, which I think was on Sci-fi a few times in the mid to late 90's.

Ah! Sci-Fi anime Thursday, fond memories…

Just a warning to everyone, Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien is something to be avoided if you have depression issues as it’s likely to push you over the edge. First episode it seems like a normal high-school series but quickly descends into a story of lost-childhood and heartache. Just to prove how horrible it is the creators tacked on a 30second comedy bit on each episode to stop the eventual flood of mass suicides!

Spec me an anime please. Ive not watched that much anime, so im not quite sure what there is out there. Of the ones I have watched, i'd have to say that Ghost in the Shell was my favourite. I just love the whole android/near future things and the fdreamy sequences when she gets ghost hacked. I also really loved some of the animatrix ones, especially the haunted house short story. Any suggestions of what I should watch next?
