I don't know if it's been mentioned, but Manga have put up Highschool of the dead for pre-order at various sites :)
I've duly got the blu-ray version on order now :D

Nozomi have also put up Utena set 2 for pre-order, which is now pre-ordered along with the remastered BGC set (I've got the old BGC release but one of the discs has a crack on the hub, and i'll kick myself if Animeigo put it OOP as it's still one of my favourite series).

I honestly can't remember if I've actually watched BGC ... I've got the set on the shelf next to BGC 2040 (?) but I really can't remember if I've watched it or not :)

High School of the Dead ... I'll probably pick it up eventually but it's not really a high priority for me. I have pre-ordered Utena 2 though :) along with Nozomi's Sora No Woto release ...

Hey Alexrose1uk, do you think that it's worth petitioning Yen Press to up the rate of the release schedule of the Spice and Wolf English translations? I can't believe i would have to wait 6 years!

@andi
Thanks for the Feedback
I've already watched DC, which I agree was nothing special but watchable.

Will check out Fractale, IS, KnT2, Yumeki and MSMM
Perhaps Freezing and Zombie depending on my mood, got plenty to watch and I've not even finished Index S1 yet, let alone Rg/I2, and the other titles on my watch list, just don't want to miss any hidden gems. I never really used to checkout season lists, but I realised it meant shows I might like were passing me by.

@robgmun
Would depend on whether you could get enough people to sign it, and if they'd listen to it; I already emailed a letter to Hachette (the parent company) but got no response. It sounds like they're [the books] translated and edited over a period of 2/3 months so an upped release schedule of once every 4 months (3 books a year) wouldn't be unworkable, plus the series is finished now, so they can't argue they're worried they'd catch up with the series.

It is indeed a slow and painful wait.

If anyone else has any recommendations from last season beyond Index 2, let me know :)

Ae no exorcist and Deadman Wonderland

Brilliant, really enjoying every ep so far

I went an ruined the second ep of Blue Exorcist by reading the stuff on wiki. :<
Although how your meant to understand what happened without it is a bit tough.

How does Deadman playout? Like Death Note or Elfen Lied?

Hmm neither i'd say !

Boy get's done for something he didn't commit by an all powerful being, lots of dead people. He ends up inside a maximum security prison on death row which looks like a theme park and is still partly used as one, hence deadman in wonderland ;). It contains Gore,Special Powers and fighting and the main character starts to become more powerful himself.

That's all i'll say but it's worth a watch as you do feel for the character right from the start

Been watching, well mostly re-watching, a few things over the last few days ...

Sakura Wars ... the TV series. A great series about a group of girls fighting evil monsters. Set around an alternative 1920-30's type era with lots of steampunk technology, including steampunk mecha. Good series with plenty of action and nice characters.

Kamichu! ... slice of life with a bit of a difference. At the beginning of the first episode the main character announces that she is now a god (we are not told how that happened). Her and her friends are still in middle school so the series is really them and her getting up to various things due to her new godhood. It's a well animated gentle relaxing series.

Sora no Manimani ... a favourite of mine. Again really a slice of life style series about characters in a high school astronomy club. Not a great deal happens but it's a good selection of characters and it's just a nice relaxing series to watch.

Kimi ni Todoke Season 2 ... picks up after season one. The main characters are still blundering along from misunderstanding to misunderstanding. The series does bring the story to a conclusion but does so at a very very slow pace. Not a great deal happens in the series but it's all in the way that what occurs takes place. Very slow and relaxing series (even slower than the first season).

Sakura Wars was fun (IIRC there was an OVA and a TV version? I've got the TV version), their cover story was unusual from what I remember :)

I've been rewatching one of the first Anime DVD's I bought - Amazing Nurse Nanako, which I'm finding hard to believe I actually bought it:p
It's not a great series, very dated and the story seems rather uneven/rushed (mind you given the character designs, and the box that's possibly not surprising:p).

I'm hoping to start watching Lucky Stars tomorrow (yes I haven't seen it!), as the Beez set should be arriving :)

There's a TV series, a movie and several OVAs (not all of which I think were released in R1). I have both the TV series and the movie and find both of them enjoyable.

I think I have that somewhere, although I haven't seen it ... along with several other "older" series which I've thought at the time I should get and then not got around to watching ...

I like Lucky Star but quite a few people don't get on with it. The thing to remember is that it's based on a 4-koma manga and it shows in the structure of the episodes.

Just finished Index series one. It's not gripping me in its actual execution in the way I was hoping it was but I do find the overarcing setting somewhat intriguing and keep hearing railgun is really good so going to keep watching :)

It's good how any situation can be solved/ruined by one man's right hand eh? :P

Haven`t got around to reading it yet:o Still got quite a few more to look forward to,if they ever do translate them that is :(
Still looking for the movie or DVD

Pre-ordered the BD/DVD deluxe edition of the Maria-sama movie for July. It's still looking that it's only available from the single online store in JP at the moment and not pre-orderable from the usual suspects, (and the deluxe edition may only still be orderable from the one store anyway). Had to go through a proxy service as the store don't ship outside Japan :(

Is anyone else going to the Anime Expo in Los Angeles start of July? Went to it a couple of years ago, the cosplay stuff is fantastic to see, ive just spent £75 on two wigs for my daughters costume she's wearing this year, gulp!

Nope, don;t have the time, or cash, although I would like to go. I remember you talking about going last time though ... what character us your daughter cosplaying as this time?

I'm not either; for a start I'm working, but also I'd feel far, far, farrrrrr too awkward to cosplay, let alone travel abroad to do so, plus I'd feel a little out of place at a convention; a lot of people are fairly average, but every time I see some pictures from them there are 'that segment' which take it a bit too far haha

I think about the only cosplay someone would ever convince me to do would be something like Lawrence if I had a good Holo, because he wears reasonably ordinary clothes.

Finished watching Tonagura this evening. Quite a nice little series about a girl who finds that her childhood friend, who she had/has feelings for, is moving back next door to her family after 10 years away ..... unfortunately it turns out he is now a pervert.

Some very funny moments, especially with the male characters little sister and her pellet guns ... A nice simple series overall which is pretty straight forward.

Well i took the plunge and ordered the first 3 volumes of the English translation of Spice and Wolf. Volume 4 is out next month and i thought at a fiver each, there's no point waiting to see if they finish the translations. So i chanced it. Pitty the cover of the first one is the crap photoshop :( at least from now on it will be the original covers. Anyway to get the original cover for the first volume?
