Nah.. social skills are just things you pick up. Mine are still shockingly bad (signs of a 'loner' childhood) when I'm amongst people I don't know, even if I know them on-line. Once I start to relax a bit more things get a lot better and I can at least hold a fairly normal conversation with someone.
Like freefaller said, there are topics that are usually quite safe to talk about, jobs and the like, even if you have no particular interest in the actual answers, you'll often find the most fascinating stuff about people will come up almost at random.

that cracked me up! and the image that came in my mind was bit like asking some question adn when they start to reply, simply cut them and ask next one and so on! (well in my head it sounded funny)!

and do u remember what belmit did the first night when he was so drunk, better not remind him of it ;)

To be honest he nearly had it in the end...

That would be cool. Would you believe Travellodge charged me for both nights? Not only that, they waited until Saturday to charge me?!
Going to have to give them a call and have a right go at them.
 
What could be cool is getting a place with a kitchen and doing a mass feed/drink one evening. :D *and possibly a huge fry-up the next morning - triple fried egg butties with chilli sauce and chutney for everyone*

I'd be up for some of the cooking depending on what it is. :D
