No mention of KCD2. Thought they might have had something up their sleeve for its poor Radeon performance.

Not sure if this has already been covered before but is there a way to get the Radeon software to record footage with HDR on?

I always have a heavily washed out image. The quality is great but it just seems to be something that is a pain and there in every release.

I have been wondering this for quite a while myself, i think i may have asked about it in this thread, there has been no answer.

From what i can tell no... there is no fix and there is no information about it from AMD, i know its possible because i had the same issue with my previous GPU which was Nvidia and one day they put out a driver and the problem was gone...

@AMD_Vik can you comment please?

I think for the moment you need to use other software, Action by Mirillis is pretty decent for HDR recording, You can get it on Steam for cheap, But then editing HDR footage can be more hassle than it's worth.

We've had HDR > SDR tone-mapping support since 23.20 based drivers a couple years back. Can you tell me which apps are appearing washed out for you, and with which hardware + driver + OS?

I don't use the in game HDR it doesn't look right to me, i use the Windows Auto HDR, it uses its own HDR tone mapping without using in game HDR and to my eye it looks much better.

I don't know if @phatboy is talking about the same problem but it seems to me be it in game HDR or Auto HDR the problem is the same.

The fist video is with Windows Auto HDR, the second one is with the in game HDR. The third one is with HDR turned off completely. The problem seems to be just having HDR on, sometimes taking screenshots using MSI afterburner results in a washedout image.

Its like this with all games.

Yeah exactly that. If I have hdr turned off be it either in game or the native windows settings it records perfectly. But it's like it doesn't translate the HDR being on in game to the recording. Have had this on F1 23, Forza Motorsport, the finals and the division as a few examples off the top of my head

Apologies I missed my setup, latest amd driver, sorry can't remember number but I am currently up to date and experienced the issue this week. Windows 11 and running a 7800xt pulse

Does anyone know if it is possible to prevent the drivers performance settings resetting to defaults after a crash?
Yes, create your performance settings>save your settings individually to each game profile, after a crash, even though the global profile will reset, your games will still launch on the performance settings you saved.
