The AMD Driver Thread

Twice after starting my PC I've had to reapply the overclock on my 9070. Has anyone experienced similar?
If you go into event viewer (if on windows), are there any crticial errors pointing to crashes on startup/shutdown? Likely not that dire, but Adrenanlin settings resetting was a clue recently that it was happening in my new build.

Otherwise, when I've had Adrenalin not loading settings properly (e.g. insisting on enabling global 60fps frame rate control every reboot), doing a snap export of (the correct) settings then import settings a couple of times fixed it.

Nothing was showing in event viewer until this morning. Critical error, Event ID 41: "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

Looking online it suggests potential PSU issue. I have a 750w 80+ gold. Have a Ryzen 7 5700x, Sapphire Pulse 9070, 2 Sata SSD, 1 m.2 SSD. the 750w should be more than enough for this. Came from a 3070 that recommend 650w PSU, as does this 9070.

Two things sorted that for me - disabling fast boot, like others have said, and in: edit power plan > advanced power settings > PCI Express > Link state power management changing the setting to ‘off’.

Never had the issue on Windows 11 23H2, but doing the above on 24H2 sorted it for me.

disabled fast boot and that seems to have worked. Just changed the link state power management also.

I’d check that your power supply has a single 12v rail. If it’s dual that could be a problem.

It's a Cougar GEX 750w 80 plus gold. Manual says single rail in it. I have been wanting to change to a 850w recently ready for an upgrade. Any recommendations?
