The AMD Driver Thread

This must be a 9070 thing.

I'm running Brave, which is a Chromium browser and Discord is running all the time, not got any issues with 25.3.1....

RX 7800 XT.
 
Also... you cann report bugs, its probably the best way to let AMD know.

Cheers for that.. Changed the backend to DX9 and it seems to have stopped. I'll update this post in case it somehow returns. It's clearly a bug of sort so I'll report it as well @humbug .

having issues since switching to red team 9070xt, im getting sound drops outs in games, very regular too, also using brace and losing sound like watching YT, or sound goes strange, ive tried to changing to High Definition Audio Device, that works in game, but still issues in brave, on verge of sending this to MM as doing my nut :cry:

Are you using hdmi audio out the card, could also be worth checking the audio depth set in the device, see if its set to something funny like 32bit 384khz, and if so trying to switch to something more normal like 24bit 96khz. Another possibility could just be a faulty card tbh.
It's always quirks like this that are the most frustrating to resolve!

Otherwise if I want to keep freesync on then I have to disable hardware acceleration in the browser. To provoke the issue I have a browser open and whenever I also have discord(vesktop) open(not minimized) the entire screen starts black flicker as in the monitor turns on and off several times. I also noticed that enabling or disabling Freesync causes the screen to turn off and then on again once. This behaviour didn't happen on this monitor with my old 6950XT.

@AMD_Vik Is this anything AMD is aware of? or do I need to submit a bug report?

this hasn't occured for us internally or within vanguard. Is this specifically witch chromium based browsers? Does it not happen with Firefox at all?

I haven't tested with firefox but all chromium based browsers like Edge, Brave and Chrome does it unless I change the backend to DX9 or turn off Freesync. Also the screen turns off and on rapidly once if you switch Freesync on or off. It didn't do this with my old 6950XT which makes me believe that Freesync or something connected to it that is at the center of this problem. I've already submitted a bug report through the driver.
 
Same for me, except Arc browser with the same version of Chromium 134.0.6998.89 (Official Build) (64-bit) does not do it, even with hardware acceleration turned on.

Can fix by turning off VRR on my display or turning off hardware acceleration in Chome.

AMD 25.3.1 - 7900XT

Will report bug in Adrenaline and Chrome
 
windows 10 keeps rolling back the driver to a 12-2 version then I get constant losing connection to the monitor it has done this twice

solution / ddu/ instal / turn of power source turn on all good changed my windows update settings to disabled let see if this stops it

the most annoying thing is my 6700xt drivers never had the drivers changed by windows maybe I need to get around to switching to 11 with a fresh instal
 
9070XT installed, played some games, installed a small Windows 11 update and rebooted.

Now Windows update is installing driver 32.0.13031.2000, whereas the AMD driver that's already installed is 32.0.13031.3015 :/

Edit: Hmm yeah it's rolled back to the driver from 12/2/2025 like for @Game , and the Adrenaline Home page is different, doesn't have the release notes or manual check for new driver button top left.

Incidentally has anyone noticed lower 1% lows on 25.3.1 on their RDNA 3 cards?

Also noticed lower Timespy scores on the newer driver versus 25.2.1. @AMD_Vik

I think a bit of regression on my card than benefit.
