The AMD Driver Thread

any 1 tried world of warships with win 10 drivers?

full screen i just get loading circle with flickering screen, windowed mode its fine.

Oh for gods sake AMD!!!

Latest drivers, fire up Elite, just black screen, "no input".

CCC won't even start.

####### #######!!!

I got latest drivers and it works fine for me. Though I do have crossfire disabled for Elite :o:p:D

As far as I know that's nothing to do with AMD. Windows 10 is still at a testing stage and they want every one to be using the same drivers so it's easier to iron out the faults. That being said you can change the settings to stop the driver updates. Is it ticking the "stop other Microsoft product updates box"?

Poor state of affairs when the windows 8.1 drivers work better on 10 than the 10 ones do.

You have to disable Windows Update all together to fix it.

When updating drivers does anyone else unplug the Ethernet cable to prevent windows from installing drivers on its own? or is it just me being paranoid?
I always use Display Driver Uninstaller so the old ones are properly cleaned out. That has an option to prevent Windows from trying to reinstall a driver when you reboot.

I do that when I install windows after a format. Once I put on any drivers I want, then I plug the cable back in. lol :o:p:D

Not for updating drivers though. That's crazy!! :p ;)

Matt can you check my project cars settings on the last page since you wanted me to post them for you.

Also with the new Witcher 3 patch its introduced more flickering. Ill be finished the game soon though so once again by the time its all fixed it wont mean much. At least to me.

Thought it was a bit insane, I probably should give DDU a go rather at some point than rely on AMD's uninstaller.

You do not need to physically pull the plug by the way, just simply disable the network adapter ;)

I use AMD uninstaller and it works fine for me.

I was told to put this post here in the hope matt will see it:

Hi all, I previously had this setup:

Dell 30" 3008WFP via DP
2x 27" via DVI-D

And it all worked fine at the max res at 60hrz and I could play HDCP content no problems.

Now I have:

Phillips 40" via DP
Dell 30" via DVI-D
DGM 27" via DVI-D

And now all of a sudden I can't play my amazon prime video in HD - saying I dont have HDCP compliant screens

Right this second im only running the philips and dell monitor as bizarelly the DVI-D cable I used on the no longer used 27" screen won't work properly on the dell - gets garbled interlaced screen & the ONLY DVI-D cable that will work is the one that used to be in the DGM monitor..................

I have ordered a new DVI-D cable to come tomorrow for the currently unused DGM screen.......but I am assuming the Dell on the DVI-D cable isn't HDCP compliant

I am using 2x r290x graphics cards in crossfire - so the ONLY available outputs I have are:

DP
2x DVI-D
HDMI

I am aware I could disable crossfire and use 2 DP's out from them but obviously I dont want to do that.

I also tried using the HDMI out to the DELL, but it wouldnt work above 1920x1080.

I then tried DVI-D out to monitor HDMI, no go, then tried hdmi out to DVI-D on the monitor again only 1920x1080

SO - ANY IDEAS ANYONE ? doing me nut in.

I reinstalled, but also wiped my settings files for elite, which seemed to work...

But I think my problem is something else.

I may have had a ciustom resolution selected in elite for 21:9.

Just now tried selecting 2560x1440 on desktop, and had the same problem. No signal. Same when selecting custom res.

So these cards not/drivers simply not outputting certain resolutions.

Feel for you mate. Hope you get it sorted out.

Look at the bright side, now that I have a 295x2, I can join you and we can complain together at AMD to get Elite working optimally in crossfire :p:D

Tweaking the settings I managed to get Elite very playable at 4k with a single card though. But not sure if what I consider playable is the same as you. Give me a shout if you want to give my settings a try.

DDU finally solved my resolution issue.

As for Elite... make no mistake, I can get it running smoothly on a single card. But that's hardly the point.

If I could get feedback saying that they are looking at it NOW, and let me know whether they can fix it or not, or when, it could possibly persuade me to stay.

It wouldn't excuse the last few months, but it would at least give me some info to make an informed decision.

Oh, and that annoying displayport link failure thing...

But they just keep so darned quiet.

They were doing so well at one point, then lately, just undid all the good they had done towards their rep for drivers.

End of the day, I want to play the games I want to play, and use the hardware I paid for. If I can't do that reasonably with AMD, then I need to move.

I'm not even asking to play a new release on launch - I think it's reasonable to wait a couple of weeks on occasion.

About the displayport link failure, can you see if disabling monitor sleep stops it from happening? Because I never had this once but I think it's because I don't allow monitor or pc to sleep.

If I left my monitor turned on (along with disabling sleep in Windows) and just let it sleep when the PC was off then I wouldn't get it. Not ideal I know but a solution...
