The AMD Driver Thread

If only nvidia could fix them, just got a new TWIMTBP game, launch it and get:

Had a few of those :(

Changed the polling rate to 5000 in AB - so far so good :)

Getting tiresome now:(, consoles are starting to look viable.

Heretic :D

Oh nice, seems I got a good 290 then :D

Thanks for the advice again, I will jump on for some GTA 5 now, monitor temps, then try those settings and jump back on and see what the new temps are like, shall report back soon! :)

Nice. It'll be interesting to see if it helps at all.

Hmmm, not sure why that is then, I have never changed that setting :/

Just finished GTA 5 session there, GPU temp hitting 78 degrees with a fan speed of 57% on stock settings as above.

Have set -25 for CV and +25 for PL now, will jump on and report back.

Not sure why that is, you have msi gaming edition dual fan?

I've had a few 290s / 290Xs. Default has always been +0 core and +0 power limit. My understanding is it adds (or subtracts) from the default set in the bios.

Ok thanks, I will check my bios next time I restart my pc.

Did you buy it new or 2nd hand? Card could've been flashed by the previous owner with a custom bios.

Alternatively, wipe the drivers, AB etc! and reinstall. Could be just a glitch somewhere. I've seen this before when I've messed with the AB files. Stock voltage altered and stuck.

Bought it new from ocuk.

I have done DDU etc. not too long ago, I think the CV might have been lower at one point, will need to check my old screenshots in this thread.

Had a long session on gta there and temps are a tiny bit better, room is probably a good couple of degrees hotter since this morning so not an accurate comparison.

max temps with -25 and +25 were 76 degrees with a fan speed of 54%

Didn't have any issues, so I might keep to this, reckon I could drop the CV much lower?

Anyone else tried the new modified driver? :D So far better scaling in W3 and some are reporting CFX works with Freesync!

Here if you want to mess with them: (not official!!!) I am using these though with success WOOT!

http://bit.ly/1SaoJvu

Scaling is improved and Freesync 'works' with crossfire - my clocks bounce around though with it active leading to quite a choppy experience. Not official though, so there is a small chance that it will get fixed. The White flashes I was experiencing in the witcher have gone too...flickering also seems to have reduced/gone.

That driver gives me some pretty bad artifacting, no matter how much voltage i put into the cards.
