The AMD Driver Thread

I can only run two cards in w3, but it works pretty damn well :) Vsync on. With 3 cards it's a huge no go. I have my clocks locked with using msi afterburner config. Haven't tested gta V yet though.

It's a step in the right direction at least. Come on AMD!

Anyone else tried the new modified driver? :D So far better scaling in W3 and some are reporting CFX works with Freesync!

Here if you want to mess with them: (not official!!!) I am using these though with success WOOT!

Installed these after much success with the previous modded drivers.

These are even better with Pcars....which is now patched to 1.4 (so SMS might have added some performance?) but getting a good 15-20 fps increase in performance at 1080p on my Xfire 290s.

Definitely miles better than the 15.5s! Smooth as silk too! :)

Heck yes! That's awesome :)

Just played GTA V and just awesome. The occasional hitch I'd get running all three cards (coming in to certain areas of the city) is gone! Even at 4k with the same settings I was using at 1440p I can hold a minimum of 60fps :D

Such smooth, such glory

Might keep this triple Hawaii setup for another year if they keep this up haha

I might have to pick up another Sapphire Tri-X 290 and go for Tri-fire! :D

Those modded drivers have removed ALL of my micro stutter induced unplayable mess from GTA V and it now runs at 60FPS hitting vsync with Xfire enabled.....Chuffed does not explain it :D

Still no elite dangerous croasfire drivers.

0 performance gain if crossfire enabled.

2nd gpu just sits at 5% usage. Tried every crossfire settings and none make any difference.

Come on amd 7 months this game has been out not and no crossfire profile!!!!

anyone have a fix to the project cars crash to desktop? I've updated drivers i get no graphical errors just a crash to desktop after usually 2 race days.

I usually only get those CTD on Project Cars if the grid is over 10 - 14 cars.... or the settings I'm trying to use are too high with a MSAA setting or D2X etc... super sampling? ....

Have you elite guys tried contacting the developers of the game to see what they say about crossfire?

The devs have enabled crossfire support (as per release notes from some time ago), but there is simply no AMD crossfire profile in the graphics drivers. Nvidia have one for SLI, and that apparently works well. Don't think it's down to the Elite devs here.

I just tried the 1040 modded drivers...so far it feels smoother in GTA V...amd with VSR it looks better in 1440p...my 7950 still pushes out around 40fps on very high.

The latest W3 update seems to have completely screwed the crossfire scaling. One card is at about 50% when the other is about 65%.

Response on crossfire issue from frontier

There are some issues with the graphic drivers in Crossfire and we recommend using a single card for the game.

Try it again after AMD released new drivers which hopefully fix some Crossfire bugs.

Ah I wasn't imagining it then. I only got Witcher 3 at the weekend and had only played the intro. I went back to it yesterday after the latest patch and noticed I was only getting about 40fps with both gpus only loaded about 55% and I was sure when I played at the weekend I was getting 70-80fps with both gpus >90% loading. I fiddled a bit with the settings and found that turning off the post processing AA (I have made the mod in the config file to turn off temporal AA) nearly doubled my fps and got both gpus running nearly maxed out again. Obviously with the rather annoying side effect of the game looking much worse :(
