The AMD Driver Thread

So, not updated my drivers for a while, not even jumped over to crimson yet.

Is it best to go for 15.12 or the 16.1 hotfix? Hotfix seems like they have a few issues. Or wait a few hours and see if the tomb raider driver makes an appearance?

I have a 290 if it makes any difference.
 
16.1 for me was a right pain, went back to 15.12. I couldn't take anymore of the crossfire game profiles not saving each time I started the PC and the fluctuating clock speeds were doing my swede in.

Lets see what they break and not fix in the 16.1.1
 
You may as well wait for the 16.1.1 drivers

Not everyone had issues with Crimson.....I didnt have any issues. Don't know why but I didnt. I am sure I would have noticed....Oh saying that...I did get a bit of a small glitch in Shadow Of Mordor but that dissappeared with 16.1.

I suppose it depends on whether you are getting Rise of The Tomb Raider or not, I guess. The best advice is to stay with what works for your games. I always upgrade when a new driver comes out and if it causes major issues I just get rid of them and re-install the last known working one again. Since 15.6 I have had no major issues with any of them.

I can't get through the starting cut scene in the new Tomb raider because of a driver error apparently.

Tried twice so far and currently checking Steam files are okay.

Obviously a different story for Xfire owners, but that has always been the case unfortunately. I just hope that you get a lot of love heading your way from Raj Koduri in the next couple of months. It would certainly make people sit up and take notice if this was the case.

Come on Koduri sort this Multicard madness out once and for all, there's a good chap.

I've got tomb raider. I guess I'll stick with what I have and wait for the driver then.

Also yeah, it's live. It unlocked at 17:00.

3rd time was the charm it's running now, However I just reached my first inner tomb and I'm trying to look around the cathedral like space with water falling in several places and although it looks stunning there is a terrible stutter happening, very very juddery.
Come on AMD we need this driver.

4790k, Fury Tri-x, Win 10, 1080p as it won't currently let me go up to 1440p.

Something definitely not right there. Hopefully 16.1.1 will sort it. I'll post back tonight with my first impressions.
 
Really hoping theres a driver soon. Game is out now and if theres one ready it should have been out before the release. Looking at benchmarks we need it too.

Initially when 16.1 came out had issues with them and went back to 15.12. However I was prompted by AMDMatt to install them as Administrator (right click) on W10 as is mandatory to make sure the drivers are installed correctly.

Since then I haven't looked back. Make sure you do the same, after of course you unistall the previous drivers normally via Control panel and then use DDU.

31 fps with a single 290 in tombrraider
31 fps with crossfire enabled.

Please surprise me and for once bring out a crossfire profile on release day lol
