The AMD Driver Thread

Just played a ranked game of Overwatch. Crashed on victory screen for the third day running, and get no SR for the win.
DDU'd and reinstalled 16.7.3 and all good in the last game so hopefully sorted.

Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.8.2 Highlights
Support for:
No Man's Sky™
Paragon™ Open Beta

Fixed Issues

Overwatch™ may experience an intermittent application crash when browsing the hero gallery.
With a Freesync supported display and Freesync enabled, some users may experience flickering on desktop during system idle.
A small number of Windows 10 Anniversary Edition systems may experience install issues with secure boot enabled.

Known Issues

A few game titles may fail to launch or crash if the AMD Gaming Evolved overlay is enabled. A temporary workaround is to disable the AMD Gaming Evolved "In Game Overlay".
Grand Theft Auto V™ may experience an application hang on Radeon RX 400 Series Graphics when playing at 4K resolution in story mode.
A small number of 144hz non-Freesync enabled displays may exhibit flickering during gaming or on desktop.
Ark Survival Evolved™ may experience an error message when trying to launch the game in some configurations.
DOTA2™ may experience an application hang when using the Vulkan™ API and changing resolution or game/quality settings.
Corruption may be experienced in Rise of the Tomb Raider using the DirectX®12 API on some Hybrid Graphics configurations when performing a task switch.
Shader Cache may remain be enabled when set to "off" in Radeon Settings on some Hybrid Graphics configurations.
Radeon RX 480 graphics may experience intermittent stuttering in The Division™ when high game settings are used and vsync is enabled.
Battlefield™ 4 may experience intermittent crashes when using Mantle. As a work around users are suggested to switch to DirectX®11.
Radeon Pro Duo may experience a black screen in Total War™: Warhammer with the games API set to DirectX®12 and V-Sync enabled.
World of Tanks™ may experience stuttering after performing a task switch in AMD CrossFire mode.
Rocket League™ may experience flickering when in AMD CrossFire mode.
Ashes of the Singularity™ may experience an application crash with "crazy" in game settings and Multi-GPU enabled.

wow...nope. Flickering like crazy on desktop after exiting out of a game. :( it seems to increase when you move the mouse pointer around the screen and over windows..also clicking lmb or typing like im doing now causes it to flicker more.

Yeah I've tried the new drivers but I'm getting the same flickering. Do you know of a previous driver I can use that doesn't have the flickering? I can't remember what driver it started happening in.

Touch wood I haven't had the 100% gpu load issue with 16.8.2 as of yet...

Any ideas if the "unable to initialize opengl window" error whilst trying to launch no mans sky is a driver or game issue?

Tried all the potential fixes people are reporting and nothing has worked for me I still cannot load the game due to this error...

I've just installed 16.8.2 and during benchmarks I get a constant 100% GPU usage but my core clock is dropping below 1000 (should be 1335) and I'm getting rubbish scores compared to everyone else because of it voltage is saying 1.1313 and temp is maxing at 77, any ideas?

Ok so I had really good success having the flickering completely gone & FreeSync rock solid reliable via this method:

http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD-Clean-Uninstall-Utility.aspx

Using the AMD Uninstall Utility, before the restart enabling safe mode & then using

Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) V16.1.0.

Clean Install of 16.8.2

I am considering not driver updating for a little while because as it stands right now everything is running perfect!!

Crossfire always enabled and if a game requires single card specific (CS:GO etc) using the "launch" command from within Radeon Settings with crossfire disabled profile works a treat!

Don't run gpuz and see if you still get 100% gpuz usage. I have removed mine from running at startup and no issues now until I manually run it.

I've also noticed that if it crashes in a test, it's hard to get decent scores again sometimes without a reboot.

I always use the AMD utility from add/remove programs to uninstall then run DDU in safe mode and install new driver. I'm not a fan of just updating the driver in Crimson even though ppl seem to say it's fine.
