The AMD Driver Thread

N
nVidias control panel takes around 4-5 seconds to open no matter the amount of games installed. Second having a 1000 games stored on what i assume is mechanical drives(correct me if im wrong here :) ) is going to have to take some time when it comes to profile loading. Your use scenario is extremely niche im afraid. I myself have a 500gb drive and 300gb of a 1tb mechanical drive full of games and yet Radeon Settings are loading near instant, no more than 0,5 of a second. But dont get me wrong. I get the frustration. I to would be frustrated if i had the same issue as you. Infact i was when i had nvidia in the computer.

I have the same issue with about 500 games installed (I have a sub-10mbit internet connection so I prefer not to uninstall games I haven't finished as it can take hours to redownload them and disrupt streaming on other devices). It's annoying because I have no need for it to load up all these profiles, I wish you could bypass that and go straight to Global Settings. Even worse is the fact it makes the Radeon Settings app crash a lot

Delete them :). You can delete the profiles that pop up. Might help with the loading. Of course keep the few where you need some specific options set.

Thanks, let me know how it goes on your end. I've just bought a new and supposedly better Display Port cable, will give it another try.

EDIT: new cable didn't change anything, still no Freesync with The Division

I have no luck with that game either it appears. No freesync in DX11 or DX12, fullscreen, windowed or fullscreen windowed. Guess they didnt completely fix the issue

Really don't understand why you don't just try the latest drivers. What's the worst that could happen?

I used to update them all the time a new one came out, but got sick of doing this :-

getting major flickering on fifa 17 game is unplayable with newest drivers.. had to go back

Why fix what isn't broken ?, ive got no problems with the drivers im on, if you don't have a problem, why are you updating ?, why break whats working :p

Yup this is pretty much my thought process these days whenever it comes to any updates for drivers/software. Granted I have never had a problem with updating to the newest AMD drivers until the relive stuff was added but still, it made me question why I was updating when there was really no need to, especially when ever I am barely playing any games lately.

the joys of computers lol i can even recreate it happening by changing drivers back and forth as the reason for it. i'll stick with 17.1.1 for now till next update comes and try that.

Reassured to hear that it's not just my rig/setup. Thanks for testing.

No issues on any of my various systems with Fifa 17 on the latest drivers. Try a DDU and clean install would be my first suggestion.

tried that same thing unfortunately, it doesn't show on camera or by recording with relive :/ it also stops once i go windowed too. it only happens with fifa 17 i have been hammering sniper elite 4 n fine on that with both driver versions. gone back to 17.1.1 as i need my fifa fix.

Now this is a strange one!! If it was drivers or GPU the Relive Recording should pick it up!
Monitor resolution issue maybe like conflicting somehow making the screen flicker? if it was the monitor then recording software wont pick it up.
