Even though, it may sound extravagantly, updating your graphics cards drivers is fun and it's possible you'll get some performance improvements across the board, some new features and proper support for new games.
Yeah, I have been thinking about it for a while so went and did it. And experienced something fun for Matt maybe.
@LtMatt I thought I would use the inbuilt upgrade within the Radeon Software, New Recommended, which was driver 19.5.2. But when I did I got this message. Not sure why it started the path with \??\ and not just C:\ etc. Thought I mention it for you incase it something that need to looked at, or it is just my PC that playing up. The said file was in there though, although I didn't check that until now and instead downloaded it through the browser instead and installed it that way.
The latest WHQL is 19.7.1.
1. Download 19.7.3 directly from https://www.amd.com/en/support Choose your graphics card.
2. Download and run DDU https://www.guru3d.com/files-tags/download-ddu.html
3. Before restarting, turn your internet connection off
4. Restart and run the new AMD driver.
5. Enjoy.
uhm yeah, I know the latest driver is 19.7.1, says so right there in the screen shoot labeled as New Optional. I picked New Recommended (next to it) by choice due to I prefer not to be on the latest driver sine most of the time there is some teething issues with them, or so it seems from all posts in this thread from time to time. Although appreciating that you pointing out I am not using the latest drivers, but as I said, it is per choice.
i have an all amd system and i am not experiencing stuttering...a long shot but do you have a web browser open when you play? The stuttering in DayZ isnt going away, i honestly think its time to go Nvidia and see how they fair as it just seems AMD are not involved with DayZ at all. Not even had @LtMatt confirm any DayZ stuff. Is it such a **** game that AMD dont mention it in changelogs?
I've tried every tweak in the universe and cant get rid of the stuttering.. no other game i play or have played gives me these issues. Its just DayZ and they say they 'have AMD systems' but i really think they're feeding me crap.
Anyone know if this is a hidden Gameworks title?
The one game i want to play and its ******.
Edit, and the worse thing is i see streamers playing DayZ on Nvidia 960's, 970's and even 660's!
Jesus!

Like insurgency sandstorm dayz uses the unreal 4 graphics engine. If on sandstorm I put everything on the lowest video settings my Vega 56 keeps randomly downclocking a fair bit from its normal 1600 and the game stutters. If I up the video settings a bit this stops happening with the card staying at or close to 1600. This has been mentioned by various people and wasn’t convinced until I monitored by Gpu / cpu in game and tried it.
DayZ runs on Bohemia Interactive's new Enfusion Engine since Build 0.60 back in 2016. My issues started around Build 0.61.
