No word if it fixes the brightness bug in windows with these hotfixes so probably will be skipping these till it is fixed. Had to revert back to early December i think it was drivers.
@LtMatt
My only annoyance with these drivers is we cannot have the FPS cap without using Chill and Antilag together because these are mutually exclusive.
Please bring back the limiter.
The fps limiter is still there it's just part of chill to use it set the min and max to what frame rate you want to cap at.
To use chill set the min fps different from the max.
Antilag can be used without either or together.
Edit
Chill is a better method than the old frame limiter. It delivers frames faster when ready.
The best way is to max frame rate say 144 and set min to 142 etc or for 60hz max 60 and min 58
Kinda glad i switched to the green team (something i NEVER wanted to do) after about 10 years of AMD. All these driver issues is something that we really dont need to be putting up with, that new 2020 driver was the last straw for me.
Bought a 1660 Super (MSI Gaming X @ £249) and DayZ is running waaaay better and hardly stutters at all now. I'm not getting video freezing when watching multiple streams/youtube at the same time while using hardware acceleration in Chrome. Those clock speeds dropping really low are a thing of the past, the 1660S stays pretty much between its normal and boost clocks (even when locked at 60fps) while using max performance option in the drivers. The 5700XT i briefly had was dropping down to as low as 59Mhz in GTA V. My Vega 56 only ran around 1400Mhz but at least locking a State was possible with the older drivers to get it over 1500Mhz.
I'll keep my eye on what upcoming GPU's AMD have in the pipeline but for now this 'best 1080p card' will have to do me until AMD can bring something to get me back.
As a bonus, Freesync is working with this card
Btw my 3900X is running sweet so i still have something AMD in my case
Remember when AMD used to release 'hotfixes', to fix their broken drivers, well Nvidia are releasing them now too.
Locking Pstate is still possible with 2020 drivers.
I tried DayZ for you couple months and it was fine on my system so not sure why you have had this issue tbh
Also I always have multiple tabs on my second monitor from watching football, YouTube, twitch and mixer not all at once haaa
Again no issues with my GPUs clocks
Anyway the most important thing here is you getting what you want from your system.
All these driver issues is something that we really dont need to be putting up with, that new 2020 driver was the last straw for me.
What driver issues?
Dont try to justify the £250 1660S instead of a RX5700 by saying "driver issues blah blah"
Well i upgraded every single component and still had stuttering, even bought a mains conditioner and that didnt fix it, hate to say it but its Nvidia that has fixed it. I wish this wasnt the case but it is what it is and now i can play DayZ again after more than 3 years of stutter.
I also play Second Life and the OpenGL from Nvidia is at least 50% faster than my Vega 56 in performance.
Pains me to say this but, it just works lol
Yeah OpenGL nvidia owns I totally agree, the best thing here for AMD is Vulkan API they is a good few OpenGL titles/emulators jumping from OpenGL to Vulkan.
Cannot use Antilag & Chill, but we could use Antilag and the FPS limiter. When you activate one of them the other gets de-activated.
This happens to me too, except in overwatch where I noticed after pressing alt-z that they are both enabled and I get both sets of beeps (AFAIK) at the start upon launching
Yep. Fps limiter was great, Chill is not and never was good.
