**THE AMD DRIVERS THREAD**

Have to remember guys these are beta drivers so might be issues for some, In saying that imo after 14.1 beta there should have been a stable Non beta released before yet another beta.

Have to agree with the above.

So much hate for AMD going on in this thread, remember these drivers are BETA not the finished product, we are effectively testing them for AMD and they will fix the issues in the stable releases (hopefully).

It is a brand new API there are bound to be problems, I have not tried them yet as I have decided to wait a few months for the issues to be ironed out.

AMD drivers have been very good for the past year or so and I have been seeing small to medium performance gains month on month.

The last set of whql drivers were top notch.

Don't install a beta and then whinge, just give them feedback via the official route about what is broken, that is what you are supposed to do as testers.

Yes tell me about it I got rid of my 7970's what 2 years ago to get 2x670's as they were faster at the time oh boy how did the drivers improve I couldn't imagine what the difference between the 670's against 7970 crossfire on bf4 with mantle would be like now at my res lol

All drivers above 13.11 beta 8 break audio in windows for me, including the official 13.12's and these 14.x drivers.

Can we whinge if we install the WHQL drivers and they break stuff? :)

I have to say I'm not sure I've noticed this issue. Is it all the time, just in games or in really specific situations?
And to be clear, what exactly is happening?

I guess this is apt.

I think people are more disappointed a driver is released just for a new game rather than fixing issues that could effect the said game moving on and patch long standing bugs.

13.12 are terrible for me. If you have 290's in crossfire any game with v-sync on you get horrible audio distortion. You might say just turn v-sync off but some games like skyrim etc this can be a problem.

thats why i am stopping on them no crashes and rock solid in bf4 :D

I didn't run any actual benchmarks, but I played BF4 in 'Mantle' mode earlier for the first time and it was rock solid.

No audio issues either, but i've not tried any other games....dare I say these seem to be working fine?

You realise that new drivers always reset AMD Catalyst Overdrive to defaults though? Everytime I install new drivers I make sure to bump the maximum fan speed to 50% to prevent throttling.

Another set of drivers, another few rounds of BF4 with no issues.

Pointless post I know but just so peeps know it's not all bad.

Though I would love to know what people do to their PCs sometimes. Unofficial driver cleaners, beta drivers, overclocks with 3rd party tools, pushing the edge of the parameters these things are designed around, over and over again and yet it should be all so easy to code a game and knock out fully working drivers to work in all these situations. Meanwhile loads of people seem to be playing just fine. :/

Bit of a dick post but honestly, people need some perspective every now and again.
