Anyone else running Win 7 x64 with the new 14.2 beta drivers not having their desktop gadgets displayed?

All fine here matey :)

Except this after 90 minutes on BF4..

Just tried the Test level on BF4 before I get some kip. With everything maxed out on Ultra and Field of View set @120 I was getting 200 fps dropping to 170 in large open areas!!

This new beta takes more advantage of tri-fire IMO but there were nasty jaggies and tearing when it was just sitting on the desktop doing nothing

Either way its better than the last beta and I will play more with it tomorrow. It's a very positive sign of what is yet to come :)

I had a game of BF4 got a white screen had to reset the PC and my gadgets came back. Given up for now will try later after some sleep. I had previously rebooted about 3 times to try and get my gadgets back.

So 14.2 seems all good for me so far (only tested BF4). First time I have properly been able to test mantle and it is soo smooth compared to directx - especially as I am running at 120hz. I think it is due to the frametimes being much lower? Also don't get massive fps drops when vehicles explode in my face etc (drops from like 100 to 90 fps). Average framerates are at least 10 up too I would say.

Did have 1 lockup but then turned my afterburner mild overclock off and none since then. Temps have risen by at least 5 degrees though so fan is a bit noisier. No throttling but mantle does use up most of my 4gb vram - perhaps it is supposed to? But directx only uses about 2100MB tops.

Overall happy though and getting closer to the magic 120fps at ultra for my monitor :)

Same as my findings Walder. I noticed my gpu temps were up 1-2c from normal as well. Then i realised its because im chugging out 25+ more fps. I still think there is more to come from Mantle and BF4 btw. Still a few minor bugs exist and id expect performance to improve even more with more Dice patches and newer drivers. I'm never going back to DX now aside to do some bench tests to compare it to Mantle.

Its working for some but not others, it must be something related to something.

:) did chuckle

When a game finally has TrueAudio working (which is rare as rocking horse excretion) the phrase: TWIMTBH can be banded. :D

Setting " Unofficial overclocking - Without Powerplay support " and setting it to 2D clocks in desktop has fixed the screen flick when it changes to 2D-3D-2D ;) (Firefox Hardware Acceleration was off)

Ltmatt is that ok to do that?

Yep just means your card won't clock down. Or you can do what the sensible people do and use Chrome and you won't have the flicker problem.
