Ultra 200% res scale.

(unfortunately Photobucket don't do full size links, and i'm aproaching my bandwidth limit)

Humbug, pick a spot on any (vanilla/CR) multiplayer map at ultra/4xAA and I challenge your 290 to a mantle battle against my 7970's.

OC'ing is permitted and res scaling is up to you.

Why? I'm mildy curious and bored enough to do it :)

I know this isn't the point of the screenshot, but what I noticed in all this is that it seems BF4's FPS rounding is a little off, or the rivatuner overlay (?) isn't accurate enough to justify showing the decimal place in it's fps figures.

Also that it seems you were running these using DX11?

Yes DX11. don't know what happened to my Mantle shots... also, are you looking at the OSD Frame latency or FPS? the FPS is the one on the inside. ^^^^^ :)

All-right your on, i know i will lose to CF 7970's, but yeah. sounds like fun.

I will put some images up late tonight, too busy for it at the moment, or you can start. i don't mind :)

Good man :)

You go when you're ready mate. I don't play BF4 often enough to know where all the really dodgy/demanding spots are.

the one with FPS next to it? (that's the one I was looking at)

42.3 does not round to 43.
33.8 does not round to 33.
49.5 does not round to 49.

As the first one shows, it's not even consistently rounding down.

You never know, unless they've fixed the VRAM issue Petey may have some issues... (Of course it might not kick in in time or may be intermittent enough to get a screenshot inbetween.

Last time I played it with 14.6, VRAM seemed ok, though perhaps it would've manifested after a round or two?
I definitely noticed an issue with vram/mantle using 14.4.

I'll also do a few single card shots for a slightly fairer comparison too :)

@ Googaly

BF4 internal counter may update at a different time to MSI OSD, thats probably all that is, its only fractions of a FPS anyway, it doesn't bother me, i never even noticed it :)

It's not an issue, but one of them is wrong.
I notice these things, most of the time I have an eye for details.
As LtMatt likes to say, I'm the life and soul at parties...

290 @ 1110/1410 (24/7 clocks)
Mantle
All Ultra, No AA, 200% Res

I didn't set any AA because in half of these the VRAM went over 3GB without.

With 7970 CrossFire i think you will beat me, but i'm interested to see how close i get :)

Only did the Shanghai ones for now :)

7970's @1200/1600
Same settings as you.

1: 70fps

2: 62fps

3: 68fps

Looks good, but the vram usage makes it very spiky and pretty much unplayable if you like running around.

Ok, with a 9% higher clock your 40% faster than me, so clock for clock about 35%?

Its around what i expected, you have very good performance :)

Something like that :D

Cheers, though I think I'll stick with 4xAA @100% and giggle at silly fps that my screen can't even display :)

I lock my FPS to 90 in user.cfg, which is pretty much where it sticks 90% of the time, i also don't run High Post AA as it just blurs the image.

Its good to have high FPS that don't go up and down.

I'm not sure if it's drivers or what, but with my 7950s I'm now using 14.6 drivers and BF4 crashes within seconds of it loading when using Mantle. DirectX is fine.
Mantle was working fine when I was using the 14.3 betas, but as soon as I put the 14.4 WHQL drivers on I got this problem. I then rolled back/sideways to the 14.4 betas and still got the issue. I was hoping the 14.6s might fix it.

I've run a repair on the BF4 install multiple times now. And since DirectX works I'm not sure it's the game.

I use DDU to uninstall my drivers and for the 14.6s I uninstalled from control panel first and then ran DDU. 14.4s and 14.6s all installed without any obvious issues.
