I haven't had a single crash for a very long time but It was about 2am and I scrolled down in Chrome on a forum with a youtube video and this happened

No BSOD, no driver has responding just that ^ Never seen anything like it before[/QUOTE]

Does it completely freeze your pc when it happens?

Well, last night I managed to play a whole round using Mantle.
Not going to claim to have fixed it just yet though, bit more testing needed.

Well I had to reset the pc, so yes :(

I've had similar happen to me, happens completely randomly though. Always seems to be something to do with youtube or viewing videos, had it happen both in chrome and IE. Also when viewing videos in steam client (store page). Last time it happened for me on win 8 I got a grey screen.

Games and benchmarks run fine with zero problems.

Exactly the same as me then as at the time a youtube video was on the same page

I had a random red screen in BF4 after about 30 minutes, no OC's and never had that kind of crash before. Promptly reinstalled 14.4 but still have to put up with the stupid low power 2d clocks issue with my receiver that have been broken for a year? Think 13.9 was the last version that didn't do it and can't play BF4 with them!

Red screen = unstable cpu, dram, vccio. Try bumping non gpu voltages a notch or two.

CPU's not OC is stock, sig is wrong. Never happened before and happened about 45 minutes after installing the newest drivers so i'm gonna look at them! lol

Unfortunately there isn't anything that can be done in terms of boosting its performance, because its a Laptop, one can't overclock the hardware in them.

This http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/OS2013351A_TC50155300G.exe

Is the driver for your Laptop (Satellite C855D-S5320) released 12/05/14.

Run through the procedure i explained and then install that, if that does not fix the problem then i don't think it can be fixed.
Other than going back to Windows 8? do you need to run 8.1?

Hi humbug,

Took me longer to find the time to do this than I had planned but it is all done now. At first glance, the lag and problem with audio/visual sync on all media player types seems to be gone. Online video's begin straight away, as opposed to stuttering into it, as they did before. So it seems like it has worked, or at least to some effect.

I am yet to try it out with Skype or any gaming, but I'm hopeful.

I do have a quick question, is there anything I should do in the CCC to improve the standard of things? i.e turning on (or off) things like triple buffering, anti-aliasing, vertical refresh etc.

Thanks again for your help, it seems like it's working

I take it you installed those Drivers?

Everything in CCC is set to give you the best optimisation by default, if its working now, don't fix it :)

... I think so?! I mean, I did, but the link you supplied me, when unzipped, was like 4,000,000,000 different files so I just clicked some at random and hoped for the best!

I really just wanted to check, as I have triple buffering set as off, and vertical refresh off, unless application specifies. And I thought these are to maybe help with frame rates etc?
