T'is a good point, I remember that article and a few here jumped on it and even laughed at some of the 4K users having problems. The fact remains though, this shouldn't happen and hope it is a quick fix like Thracks said and not something that takes a year (like the frame pacing).

Keep on them bud and hopefully back to normal soon.

Just out of curiosity, does it do it if you lower the desktop res to say 1080P? If not, might pay to run it like that and game at 4K till they have it fixed.

Good point, Gregster, you are right- it s exactly like you wrote- lowering the resolution solves the problem ;) 1 guy at Tomshardware changed 290s for a pair of 780s and the problems were instantly gone . So. it looks to be an AMD issue all over /again /.

Ok so i have a Samsung 40 inch Full HD TV being repaired and will get it back by the end of the week. Question is will a 1.4 HDMI cable work with the TV's 1.3 HDMI port?

Just a bit confused cuz when googling this, some say it didnt work but im thinking it should be backwards compatible.

I was looking at getting this one..

Also will i need to install the HDMI audio drivers from AMD even though im going to be hooking up the TV through my motherboards HDMI port using Intel's HD 3000 graphics?

Cheers :)

Guys , I have been thinking : AMD wont be so keen to solve the "4K" problem :
1. there are not so many early adopters out there like me and others .
2.what if it actually is a HW issue -when we scale down the resolution AND adjust the resolution and FQ through the Windows control panel, everything s allright.

Ergo: the amount of the data output is significantly less , when we go up it raises immensely - SST /single stream transfer / Display Port cable has to transfer all that at once..

What if whateveristhename controller on the card simply CANT push all that data through ? Wont it be better to pretend that no problem exists under these circumstances ?

I have submitted the support ticket and feedback form from beta drivers page to AMD.
Nada ..

Update: I have crossed the Rubicon and hooked up my spare ASUS z77MoBo and my daugher s old 680 to the AOC . And guess what :
4K @60Hz out of the box !
Exactly like the guys at Tomshardware wrote 3-4 days ago.
The case is clear : no AOC, no bad DP cable, but eithe rbad AMD drivers , or, worse, bad AMD cards.

Nevermind i ordered it anyway..

Just a quick update, got my ASUS 4k monitor today.

I have none of the problems that people are mentioning. The only issue I have is on a cold boot my PC gets stuck at the BIOS splash screen. I have to open the boot menu and boot manually. No idea why.

Also I'm going to have to get used to 60Hz again :o I now get tearing in games ;(

Glad to hear you're not having issues mate. You'll be well set for 4k with your gpu's. :)

They get very hot much faster at 4k :D

I need Windows 8 to get the text scaling now. Kinda straining my eyes.

Yep well you're no longer at peasant res now. Now you're at big boy res. :p 99% gpu usage per gpu will be the norm for you now. No more 60% per gpu at 1080P. :D
