Getting something really odd with 14.6RC
If I load Crysis 3 I only get support for a single card. If I hit Alt F4 and close the game then restart I get support for all 4 cards.
The good news is I get 98% to 100% usage on all 4 GPUs.
Sounds like PEBKAC to me Kaapilini.Thought it might be that earlier as crossfire works fine for me on 14.6 in Crysis 3.
I expect, for whatever reason the crossfire profile is not loading. Are you starting the game in full screen mode? Maybe make it windowed, save, then put it back to full screen, save, restore factory defaults in CCC, restart pc and see if that fixes the problem.
I did a full uninstall of the GTX 580 before installing the 290. I can't remember the exact dates, but it worked fine for a couple of months and at least one driver update through Catalyst before things went wrong. I’ve followed a few trouble shooting guides (and found lots of threads with people reporting problems following AMD driver updates) and I find myself wishing for the simple, stable days of being on the green team.
If I can summon the enthusiasm I may give the 290 one last go – is there a definitive guide for getting one working on Windows 8 with 14.4?

Update: So I upgraded to Windows 8.1, used DDU in Safe Mode and tried 14.6 - disaster, black screens when launching games, crashes and problems aplenty. Used DDU again and tried 14.4 - nice colourful patterns across the screen - PC basically unusable. Managed to reinstall 13.12 successfully and the PC then actually seemed to work for a few days. However, first serious gaming was an hour of Far Cry 3. Upon leaving the game fans spun up, screen went black. Upon rebooting found the PC to have poor stability with coloured lines and patches appearing on the screen from time to time. Once again went down the DDU and reinstall drivers route. Seems a bit better now, however I'm getting random blue screen crashes.

It is strongly suggested that you check for updates for these drivers on their company websites. Click on the links below to search with Google for updates for these drivers:

Really fed up of messing around with this rather than actually using my PC. Anyone got any tips or want to buy a Gigabyte Windforce R9 290?
It looks like a faulty card to me .
OK got State of decay working with no graphical glitches by going back to 14.4 drivers, thats strange as i was on those but someone else tried it and it worked.
Apart from sending it back, is there any definitive way to find out?
OK: try the card in a different PC, test the RAM @Memtest
lower the OC of the CPU to default, check the rails on your PSU

14.4 is supposed to work.
But what the hell is wrong with AMD drivers that causes games to artifact like they do? =/
I'm using the 14.6 RC drivers and have not had a single issue.
The 290 seems to have got even worse and keeps crashing so I have had to switch back to my GTX 580. If I had £1 for every time I've run DDU recently I would be rich!
I would like to try it in another PC, but I can't think of anyone local to me that I know who has a decent spec machine that would run it
No overclock being used (except the default on the GPU). What's the best way to check the PSU (Thermaltake Toughpower XT 775W) as that seems the only plausible cause I can think of if the 290 is stressing it that bit too much? Can this be done with software or do I have to chance electrocuting myself?![]()

Hi guys.. any reason to install these 14.6 RC's from the 14.6 Beta i have currently installed with my 7950?
Cheers.
The 14.6 RCs run a bit smoother for me on a 7950 and have got rid of a few problems that were posted on Reddit I.E blue screening on certain websites.
