U wot mate?

Nah, I am joking but surprised you made the switch. Interested to see a neutrals POV on Mantle.

I loved my 780 to bits but just the new toy syndrome. I will certainly be giving my perspective on it and commenting on the 'smoothness' which gets touted. Though to be fair they are mainly coming from multi-GPU users so I can't comment on that aspect.

Net cost £0 after I sell the golden turd ticket.

Will be interested your opinion OB1 :D

I wanted to bench a load of games at 1080 / 1440 on my 780 before switching (for a comparison) but I got a swift offer for my 780 for a collection today so took it.

LtMatt as requested some screen shot in-game, this is after around 15mins of gameplay, what can you see. (You'll need to open them to read the 4k sized text

I have notice that my GPU memory usage is higher than its limit, is this due to me have 2 GPU's worth of memory being used?

Capped at 59 fps with Vsync (makes gameplay smoother than uncapped).

Good work. How was it playing? Graphics look freaking awesome!

Yes you're exceeding your vram limit, so if performance drops off, hitches etc you know why. Try and keep below 4000MB of vram usage. AA might need to be lowered a tad if you're experiencing choppy gameplay. If it's not too bad, then don't worry about it.

Looks very nice man :)

Was this Mantle? If so I read around the time mantle was coming out that crossfire would be able to stack the vram.
Or it could be how hwinfo64 shows on mine, you just half the max and that will give you how much vram you using.

xfire displays double the actual vram usage.

For example, I had skyrim running on xfire with 7970's and it was showing as 5.5GB usage.

Yes in afterburner, not in the BF4 overlay. That reports the correct vram usage. Sorry if this is not what you meant Pete.

Plays really smooth capped with vsync, without it I cant hit **** all, I play really poor, wonder what can cause this as my average FPS are around 90.

I find Alt Tabbing out and back in again shoots up the Vram usage quite a lot, but how can I use more than I actually have.

Yeah using Mantle, I cant be using 2Gb of Vram surely?

Yes try to avoid alt tabbing mate, you want to keep it as low as possible Lol. Disable the origin in game overlay, that will help a bit. As will shutting down your browser and any other windows while the map loads.

Think as matt said above, that in game reading shows correct amount.
