**THE AMD DRIVERS THREAD**

My card managed to drop 9c! Also managed to drop the core voltage from 75 to 55 and memory down 10.

Well chuffed :)

Btw my man cave room is always warm so its not the weather.

Can't add .exe to 3D application settings. Say I select CSGO to create custom profile "I do this so I can disable Crossfire for this game" when I add the CSGO or any game I get the message about already a profile in AMD's library so I select continue and it don't show up.

Try closing CCC.exe process in task manager and start CCC again.

Well ?

Unrelated question...

With my 290s I've recently 'upgraded' from 2 x Samsung S23A700D to a 4K Iiyama B2888UHSU and single Samsung S23A700D.

This seems to have have increased my idle temps quite a bit as the top card's memory doesn't downclock from 1250MHz (to 150Mhz?) when idle on the desktop.
Is this normal?

It didn't used to happen with the 2 Samsungs, so it it a result of one screen being 4K or using DisplayPort and DVI connectors (instead of 2 DVI)? (only differences I can think of).

Disabling the Samsung screen causes the memory to drop back to 150MHz on the (4K) desktop.

Does this fix the audio crackle and slowdowns (giant DPC lag spikes) with vsync enabled on xfire 290s? I am getting really sick of all the tearing on the games I play (the ones that need xfire anyway).

I've found that my memory clocks stay at full speed whenever I have mismatched monitor resolutions attached (3x 1920x1080 + 1 x 1920x1200, and for a while 3 x 1920x1080 + 1 x 1600x1200) - memory downclocks fine when all the monitors are the same res even though mine aren't identical makes/models.

Maybe you should invest in a second 4k monitor just to test the theory. :D

Switched over to the new drivers tonight. Had some weird issues at first (CCC still showing as a context menu option after uninstall, then wouldn't open at all once installed!). However, a few uninstalls/reinstalls and reboots fixed that up. Only played one game so far, but just to echo what the others have said - same performance in Sniper Elite V2 with lower temperatures. Previously my GPUs would sit at 69C in the game, now it's around 64C.

Knew AMD did the right thing taking the Lt onboard, it's already paying off with better drivers! :D

How have they managed to lower temps? Was a previous driver using too much voltage? Be interesting to see if it affects 295x2 temps though they're currently under 70c load for me.

Honestly?
I was considering that anyway as I don't like the size difference in desktops...

I raised this issue myself a week or two back. It's been replicated and fixed and will be addressed in an up and coming driver. As soon as i know which driver that is, i will let you know. I think it's the next driver, but am just waiting for confirmation on that.

Excellent, I await them with bated breath. In the meantime, I'll see about these lower temps everyone is on about!
