I did try the new 14.9 Drivers earlier this week ..and whilst they seemed fine I had no difference in temperatures ,Idle was still at 47c ( default fan speed 25% , 45%to get 40c ) and in game with 70% fan speed I was getting about 74c and a very warm side panel, wonder if it would be worth putting an AIO water cooler on it. but that's probably another thread

My 290 is an XFX DD ,the one with the horrible white light .

Aio certainly tames my top card in CrossFire, bottom one runs cooler now too.

Ah excellent they must have fixed the MSI bug, I'll check this on mine when I get home.

It was you also noticed high temps after 14.4? I also did and reported it
My temps are back to how they used to be. Idle 38c and on CSGO max 68c before was 77c on CSGO

BF4 83c and 80c now 77c and 76c this with Ultra and unlocked Frame rate

At this rate I think I could push these cards quite high.

Matt, whats the story with reduced temps some people are seeing? How has this come about? Not tried the new driver yet myself.

Just installed the 14.9 drivers. Rebooted and I get a flickering desktop. Flickering is audible. Was on 14.4s prior and guess will have to go back.

I'm getting horizontal lines flickering on the right side of my monitor with 14.9.

They're not there in 14.4, or in OS X. They seems to go away after a reboot, until I do something graphically intensive, and then they're back. Even after the work or game stops.

lol iv been noticing them too!. I was wondering if I was seeing things but now that you mention it I have been seeing weird horizontal lines now and then popping up on my screen.

Same here, I remember someone mentioning them over a month ago. Now they keep appearing, driving me mental. :(

That much? Mine are no different, updated from 14.6.

Not sure Gerard, no difference here as far as i can tell.

It was a problem with the beta drivers after 14.4 and the MSI Gaming 290 card's. Seem to have been solved now so happy days. Good drivers all in all these.

Same here, back to 14.4 and previous driver temps, shaved around 8/11c of idle and load temps for me as well, BF4 Ultra in 4k never goes above 82c now in crossfire, think I may run some overclocks now, :)

Tbh, CS:GO have never gone over 70 for me, and it was going to 78 before (although generally low 70s)

No crashes or weird stuff though.

Do you run with vsync or frame cap though? As this will lower the temperature. I run with 300fps on csgo and never cap my frame rate in any game. This makes my cards work even more and give off more heat. If I was to cap my frame rate to say 120fps my temps would be even lower.
