Whats the approved way of upgrading drivers now a days on windows 8.1, I usually just uninstall all of it, then install the new ones?
Last I saw driver cleaners weren't recommended?

AMDMatt, any updates on the Asus ROG Swift incompatibility? I.e. the crazy flickering at 144Hz.

Hi X3T,

Please could you provide me a DXDIAG report and i will raise your issue and investigate it. If you can upload it using SendSpace, that would be great.

Just uninstall drivers normally, restart and install the new drivers. There is no explicit need to use DDU if you're having no problems, though it can help you save a bit of hard drive space by removing left over files.

14.9.1 need to try those. As with 14.9 i got 50% chance system will black screen when windows 8.1 loads :/
Had so many crash problems i never had before but was thinking its my mew cpu/mb/memory problem. But after i ran 3dmark with artefacts all over the screen on stock clocks i knew something is off.

Anyone able to download the latest drivers from AMD at the moment? For 14.9 the download is only 134mB when it's meant to be 273mB.

14.9.1 is coming in a few mB short as well which means that neither of the .exe files run.

I would recommend trying the following.

1. Uninstall the AMD drivers
2. Download and install the latest version of DDU
3. Run DDU, allow it to restart into safe mode.
4. In safe mode clean AMD.
5. Reinstall 14.9.1 drivers.

Does CCC open now?

Regarding Mantle, this is a little more complicated. What settings are you using in game and what resolution are you playing at? What issues are you seeing in Battlefield 4 when using Mantle?

Hi matt, I'm going to get around to doing this later on tonight.
Just to clear up one more time, do I just uninstall the drivers through add/remove programs and uninstall both CCC and CCC installer?
Also how do you "clean" AMD?
First time doing this so I apologise for sounding like a noob.
Regards.

Hi Matt can you gimme some help with Watch Dogs with 2x7950 in crossfire mode? Turning it on makes the game run much worse....

Thanks (I have installed latest 14.9 drivers)

The best bit of advice regarding Watch Dogs, is to delete the whole thing and never ever again darken your PC with the coding mess that is WD.

I haven't seen one post that says their system runs WD great.

Ryse Son of Rome plays well, using CF290X (got it working using AFR forced in CCC) 4k hitting average of 60FPS, 100% usage give or take on both GPU's, temps are a problem so locking frames.

I'm liking it, worth a play through, its a simple game but enjoyable, good to turn on just for an hour. In 4k it looks brilliant, very good looking game probably in the top 5 to date.

Great might try it out, might be worth starting a new thread bud what would say is in your top 5 or games at 4k visual wise.

Since getting 4K I've replayed most of the top titles from the last 18 months again, its like playing a new game again, unbelievable difference. BF4, Crysis 3, Tomb Raider and Metro Reflux to name a few. :p

I get terrible stuttering when playing league of legends in Crossfire when Vsync is turned on. Almost as if it's skipping frames. @AMDMatt is this a known issue?

Hi Matt, thanks. Here is the link to the DXDIAG report: https://www.sendspace.com/file/zt5rch. It wouldn't run the DirectShow tests for some reason.

The exact issue is that at 144Hz the monitor is unusable - the screen is flickering and fuzzy. Leaving it like this for more than a few seconds and the display drivers crash. Running at 120Hz is mostly fine, but it seems to lose signal for 1-2 seconds every now and then. Occasionally I get the "DisplayPort link failure" message from CCC, and the monitor will not restore a signal when the PC wakes from sleep - unplugging the DP cable is the only way to fix it.

I know that many other AMD users have the same issues with this monitor, but it runs fine on NVidia cards.

Ok hopefully this is the correct place - recently since the 14.9 drivers ive been encountering an odd issue where when the computer puts the monitor to sleep (20mins) if i leave it for more than an hour it will not wake up, the monitor comes out of sleep (power light stops flashing and turns solid) but the display doesnt come back till i restart the PC often losing progress with work and what not.

Monitor is connected via HDMI cable, Samsung 2233 22" with a XFX 280DD 14.9.1 drivers - all power saving options are set to never apart from monitor sleep in the control panel - Windows event log shows nothing at all.
